65 ain't all THAT old... especially since each year I'm closer to it than I am 50.

65 is the new 40. Or something like that.

But yeah... he's jacked... almost TOO jacked...

And is it just my TV settings or is everything this season darker? Picture is darker, harder to make out characters... that's my only complaint so far. It's too dark, photographically speaking.

When they always show him walking down the road, it has to be to the nearest gym or planet nutrition.

Also, lucky he found a thrift store that has a selection of perfectly fitted clothes for an Arnold Classic finalist.

Other than that it’s a fun watch.

I liked the first season.

Just tried watching the first episode of the second season, and I could only make it halfway. What a load of rehashed, cliche garbage. Every overused trope in the book

What were you expecting? I haven’t read the books but I’m guessing it stays close to the source material. People bitch if something strays to far from the book and evidently, bitch because the TV version sticks to the source material.

Have you never read a Reacher book?

Not everything has to be deep. Men are allowed to have basic arse-kicking fun.

I'm 6'4", which is apparently one inch taller than the actor, and this was my first thought.

It isn't always easy to find clothes that fit for shite and I'm not jacked at 250 lbs. And I'm not going through racks of other people's throwaways either.

I read somewhere that the dude worked out for like 8 months getting big before season 2. He's definitely bigger than season one and I don't know that was really necessary. He was already pretty good size. Just have him wear Doc Martens if they wanted him a bit more imposing.

Liked the first 3 episodes but so far liked S1 better. Characters and story line of S1 was much better IMO.

Anyone else catch the Terminator Easter Egg they gave us? Spoilers below. I caught it and laughed my arse off. Well done.

quote:

When Reacher and Naeagley begin looking into the investigation one of their dead teammates was conducting, it rattles the chain of command all the way up to the shady figure of Mr. Shane Langston, who is played by actor Robert Patrick. Langston seems to be the head of the shady team of people who surveilling and tracking Reacher and Neagley; Langston's henchman Saropian (Joris Jarsky) calls into the boss to report he's found Reacher's hotel room – and uncovered the aliases that Reacher and Neagley are traveling under. Reacher checked into the hotel under the alias of MLB All-Star player Starlin Castro, while Neagley checked in under the alias of "Sarah Connor."

When Saropian tells Langston the alias names, Langston knows that Castro is actually a baseball player; when Langston gets asked who Sarah Connor is, his response is an unequivocal "I don't give a shite."

It’s funny listening to people bitch about the plot. I guess they’ve never read any Reacher novels. As I posted in another thread, If you want gritty stories with well fleshed out characters and details, go read a Clancy or Jack Carr novel. If you want fun nonstop action stories with a main character that literally has every tool in his proverbial tool box and never gets beaten, then Lee Child is your guy.

I guess I'm the exception because I've read a bunch of Lee Child books and I still think the Amazon variant is a little more cartoonish/cringey than the books.

But I also think Amazon does that with every crime/espionage take on a book (Terminal List/Jack Ryan), so it may just be that. I enjoyed the first three.

Does it have to be something brand new? Why can't it just be well made and entertaining?

i like high art crap all the time. i loved asteroid city. i'll see poor things eventually. i'm an avid Gilded Age watcher.

but i also enjoy reacher, obliterated, and Citadel (but Citadel was especially bad, i admit.)

it's ok to watch stupid tv sometimes.
