I did enjoy the Martian (especially the book) but they aren't really even close.
They are two very different movies both great on their levels. Intersetall is a visual masterpiece. The visuals are almost like a character in the movie.

I would love to see Mark Watney beat the shite out of Dr. Mann.

Huh?

I think I actually laughed out loud at this scene.
Also, Neil DeGrass Tyson can kiss my arse. He's as much a scientist as Bill Nye. They both should stuck to TV and kept their cake holes shut regarding politics and "global warming".

I thought Matt Damon’s snarky video log was the worst part of the movie.
Again, I enjoyed this. But hard not to roll your eyes at “I’m going to science the shite out of this”

If you get the chance, the book is much better. Adds a lot of tension to parts of the movie that were quickly resolved on screen. I did really like the movie though.
I very rarely read fiction books, but for some reason I bought this one years ago because I just had a feeling I would like it. And I loved it. I actually re-read it not long afterwards as well.
I do really like the movie and think it's really good, but the book is just awesome.

The dude has a PhD in astrophysics from Columbia and is director of the Hayden Planetarium, he is very much a scientist. You may dislike him or disagree with his takes, but to say he’s not a scientist is fricking retarded.

Would be on brand for a Space Pirate.

Fair enough. But he sold his soul to the MESSAGE instead of the scientific method.
And he can still kiss my arse.

I knew earlier when someone mentioned Tyson that it would only be a matter of time before MTV started catching the poli strays.

Funny how you didn't push back at what I said. This isn't a safe space fruitcake

Oh no, I’ve upset the politard. He called me fruitcake, make me sad.

This is actually my biggest gripe with the movie. The joke doesn’t make sense because NASA instructed him to drive across Mars to commandeer the other MAV.
In the book, there is an incident that causes him to lose communication with NASA. After that, he comes up with the idea to drive to the MAV and board it without permission, thus branding him a Space Pirate.
The most minor of nitpicks, I know.

Guys can we get back on track. I’d much rather discuss how retarded y’all are for preferring the Martian over Interstellar than get into some poliboard pissing match.

HARDCORE SCIFI
but good stuff if you stick with it.
