Which seasons are the best?
Posted on 5/17/20 at 6:52 pm to WicKed WayZ
It almost seems like each season is better than the last.
Spoilers
I may not put 5 above 4 bc imo some of the air goes out once the big reveal is known and Hank is aware. Still great though.

4 may have been a better overall season I agree, but 5 had ozymandias and dead freight (train heist) were the best episodes.

I still can’t get over how great that show was put together. People talk about the nazis being throw away bad guys, especially compared to Gus. But that’s the point. Season 5 is all about Walt and Hank. They didn’t need to spend any more time developing another big bad. The fact that the nazis were in the background is what made it all work. Damn I love the writing on that show!

I think 4 was best. When Gus walked in the nursing home with the music playing, I was all glued to the TV wanting to now how it would end. Very tense moment.

3 through 5 are such great TV that it’s hard to really separate them. I’d put them all on an equal level.

On probably my 5th rewatch of the series. Almost done with Season 2.
Personally, I think 5th is the best, but I think I’m somewhat skewed because Ozy, Granite, and Felina may be the best stretch of 3 episodes in the series.

I've never watched another show that was just perfect all the way through the end (looking at you GoT). I watched up to season 3 years ago and lost interest around the fly episode - during the quarantine I finally got around to finishing it and I was really glad I did. Amazing show

Agreed. They had to have the random smaller fish vying for the top dog spot. To be a thorn in the side of the new kingpin Heisenberg instead of a big bad type final boss. Makes so much more sense that way.

4 is peak Breaking Bad. It was a great show but I like to imagine it ended with Gus blowing up.
Parts of 5 were so bad I thought it turned into a sitcom. A jumping the shark cartoon. It was like a Breaking Bad parody. A train heist, a giant truck magnet, the Walt/Walt Jr engine revving scene, the machine gun, random nazis, Walt expands to a random Eastern European country, 10 guys in separate jails getting killed in two minutes. There was so much cartoonish crap I’m sure I’m forgetting some.
One of the few redeeming parts of season 5 is when they queued up the Breaking Bad theme at the end of Granite State when Walt got up from the bar.

Been a while since I’ve seen it but I think that’s about how I remember it.
ETA: I remember now that I wasn’t a huge fan of season one. I’ve reranked it.

I was meh on part 1 of season 5.
On the flip side, I thought part 2 of s5 was the pinnacle.

the gap between seasons 3-5 is much closer than the gap they have with the first 2 seasons

3 and 2 could go either way for me tbh. 2 gave us Saul, Mike, Gus and Jane...but the holy shite moments of 3 give it the edge imo.

5 and 1 are both flawed for separate reasons.
BCS post-S1 is on par with BB S3 at a minimum.

people are underrating season 3 ITT, probably because of the intense disdain for the fly
one minute was thrilling. half measures, full measures, box cutter (i know season 4) are in the running for best 3 episode stretch in the series.
I always tell my friends who start the show and complain about it to just make it until the end of season 3.

If this is the case, then maybe I need to revisit it. I stopped about 3 episodes into S2 a few years back. While I thought it was good, it just didn't grip me the way I expected it to
