I would like to see a movie from the Predator's perspective. Have him go a few different planets hunting.

Looks like we will be getting that in predator badlands

Cryo repository most likely reserved for unrealistically op female characters.

Because the male characters are so realistic.

He has somewhat of a point though. The movie pretends to focus on actual human history but the Ursa character is based on shield-maidens/valkyries which is mythology.

Man that was incredibly badass was not expecting that to be as good as it was. That pilot predator was an evil sob.

Right?

This was a secret film made on the side while they were making the new movie.

Has no right being that goof.

We were talking, the 3rd act was not nearly as good... but I guess they needed that skill.

This was really good. The ww2 story was less so. I guess they wanted something different than hand to hand.
They needed a pilot with mechanical skills for the ending, is all I can figure. Because that story goes against the whole concept of Predators hunting dangerous game; where's the challenge? You have a spaceship (that can also go underwater) with auto-targeting heat-seeking weapons going against propeller airplanes with fixed machine guns. Those airplanes wouldn't stand a chance against 1960's military aircraft, let alone today's planes, ... forget a Predator's spaceship.
Ok, I got downvoted by someone for both these posts... care to explain?

The basic gist of the Predator stories is they are hunting dangerous prey, prey that can kill them.

The WW2 pilot story, he's flying a spaceship against propeller planes. A couple of them got good clean hits on him, with basically zero damage. He tanks all the hits, including AA fire from the battleships. That's not a challenge, he's out there on easy mode toying with them. The only reason he goes down is that he got hit with his own weapon. That just seems like it's contrary to the overall theme.
Do you disagree?

And again, I'd argue that the only reason they shoehorned that in, is that they wanted a pilot/mechanic for the final scene. Viikings and ninja can't fly.

Disagree. All 3 stories, the Predator went down because he got hit by his own weapon. The sword kill was just a finishing move.

Enjoyed it but as others have said, the third act was a little far fetched with the guy going out on the planes wing. Would have like to have seen when the predators actually captured the individuals.

To be fair, that wouldn’t be the first Predator to get off’d by his own tech.

Enjoyed this. Echo everyone else: 1st two acts were great but the third act was meh. Didn't care for the final act either.

So outstanding first half, meh second half.

SPOLiERS in the paragraph about the final act: I'm not caught up with what's considered canon in the Predator universe, but from what I know they were big game hunters going after the most dangerous prey that they can locate. If their chosen hunter goes down during the hunt, they paid respect to the surviving "prey" that defeated the hunter. SPOILERS FOR KILLER OF KILLERS: The fact they've actually been abducting the survivors to make them fight each other in gladiator type games really cheapens their mystique, imo.

I didn't downvote you and I don't think you are completely wrong. While they are hunting dangerous Prey they are certainly taking advantage of for more superior tech. As advantaged as the Predators are there really is not any reason they should ever lose.

Completely agree. I loved it and didn't even mind the third act. But this really bothered me.

I really enjoyed this, especially the Japanese story with the brothers. I liked Prey but I’d rank this new movie over it.

I really don’t vibe with the style of this at all. 20 minutes in and it’s just too much “style” for style’s sake with no resemblance to reality.

How are we supposed to enjoy this if there’s no tension because everything is so obviously bullshite.

Spoilers:

That Viking chick would have frozen to death so quickly when she went into the water
