Post me your favorite PBS/Masterpiece Theatre series

I have been recovering from an extended hospital stay and have been binging some absolutely incredible series. These are the ones I’ve seen in the last few weeks in no particular order, but all spectacular by their own right. Also, I’m an unrepentant sucker for Dickens and Austen productions
1. Sanditon
2. The Mayor of Casterbridge
3. The Forsyte Saga
4. The Count of Monte Cristo
5. Grantchester
6. Wolf Hall
There’s probably a couple more I’m forgetting but that the main ones coming to mind.
It’s incredible how many unforgettable series Masterpiece Theatre have given us. Full disclosure, I am an absolute fool for British period stuff. A few that I’ve started and watched maybe 1/3 of and haven’t finished are Poldark and Sherlock. Simply due to timing or circumstances
Would love to hear any under the radar greats that I’ve missed. I have a ton of time on my hands lol
And yes Downton Abbey is probably next on my list

All Creatures Great and Small is a good one (reminds me I need to finish up what’s been broadcast so far). Very wholesome, based on James Harriot’s life as a vet in England during WWII.
Endeavor is really excellent. A nice period piece (1960s/70s) based on the detective from the original British series Inspector Morse. Endeavor is in his younger years coming into the police force.
Victoria is good but unfortunately they didn’t finish it. But if you’re an Anglophile it covers a good chunk of Queen Victoria coming to power and Jenna Coleman is very good in it.
As for more modern, love Van Der Valk (police procedural in Amsterdam).
I started Miss Scarlett and the Duke but it fell off a bit. I heard it kicked back up in later seasons but I haven’t jumped back in.

Upstairs/Downstairs is my favorite, similar to Downton Abbey but from the 70's.

Thank you everyone for the feedback. It occurred to me that I omitted North and South and Scapegoat in my recent watches which were both great. I’ll post more that I’ve seen as they come to mind. But please keep the recommendations coming. Tia and thanks again

I enjoyed Endeavor, it might be my favorite.
Whitechapel is a really good series & a quick binge.
Unforgotten 5 or 6 seasons.

The Unforgotten is as good a police procedural as there is. UK version of Cold Case, but much better, IMO
Each season is 6 episodes, so not much wasted time.
Stars Nicola Walker and Sanjeev Bhaskar, both of whom are stellar.

The whole set of detective shows set in Oxford is good. Morse was very good with Lewis as his DS. Lewis kept it going a few years later with him now as the boss. Then they went back to Morse's early years with Endeavour. (Endeavour is Morse's first name that he refused to use.)
Although there are connections through all of the series, each show is a stand alone drama that comes across as a mini-movie. The acting is first rate.
