I'm sure this happens in a lot of shows, but it is extremely prevalent in Suits. They are always waiting for someone that they want to talk to, whether it is at the elevators, outside a building, etc. Yeah, they may have some idea of when the character is going to come out, but it happens all the time with people that work for a completely different company. They could be waiting there for hours. I've told my wife that SNL could make a funny skit where the character is waiting to bombard someone coming out of the building, but the person never comes out or they keep starting their speech with the wrong person.
I understand it's better television than having nothing but phone conversations, but it's something I always chuckle about.

When the teenager is pleasuring himself and his stepmom enters his room and surprises him, She's always really hot and dressed in some skimpy outfit. Doesn't seem very realistic to me.

Dream sequences. Sopranos, season 2 of House of the Dragon, etc.
They never work out as well or are as creative as the writers think they are.

On the flip side, when they park in the country, they park about a mile from where they need to walk to.

any "hacking" scene
I work in cybersecurity and I bet my wife has heard me say “that’s not how it works,” 100+ times at those scenes.
and they add those stupid electronic R2D2 sound effects as they are typing and the computer is reading/processing.

The Unix scene in JP is an all-timer though for laughs

In any war movie LCpl Bagofdoughnuts has the strategic/operational/tactical acumen of Ghengis Khan, Napoleon and Robert E. Lee combined. Every officer is completely clueless and can't tie his shoes unassisted.
this is probably my single biggest pet peeve with military / war movies and shows.

The way people pretend to drink from an empty cup of coffee.
Continuity mistakes drive me batty particularly because there is a person there whose job it is to make sure things are exactly the same from each camera angle.
TV dogs apparently sleep through strangers breaking into their house.

Detective: We need this bloody finger print tested for DNA.
Lab: Should take about two hours.

Pretty much every horror movie dumb decision already mentioned.
Honorable mention: The one movie scene that was horribly immersion-breaking... the "girls get it done" scene in Endgame.

I hate scenes where moms or wives cook a big breakfast for their kids or husband, and the kids/husbands takes a single bite then say they have to run.

these arent really a pet peeve for me because they're sort of baked into the genre at this point. it's part of the formula and therefore part of the fun. that's just me

absolutely hate found footage movies
and it annoys the heck out of me for a guy shooting a Glock to run out of ammo but keep pulling the trigger and you hear click, click ....

It also bugs me when characters take pills with no water.
The new season of White Lotus killed me with this. The dad was just popping pills dry all season. And he'd jerk his head back violently every time like that was a requirement to swallow the pill. Dude, just grab a glass of water.

Power goes out. Let me turn on the light switch 4 or 5 times thinking that would help.
Fake tattoos. Ya'll know what I am talking about. That horrible Point Break remake had those tattoos that were so bad and distracting.

I first noticed continuity when Cocktail came out.
Tom Cruise's hair goes from long to short, to long to short many times in that flick.

Was watching The DaVinci Code on tv a few days ago. In addition to other logic failures the worst is when Fache arrives at the cathedral and orders the arrest of Tiebing, but Robert and Sophie are allowed to just walk away. Damn detective had been chasing them for two days for alleged multiple murders. Even if he figured out that Tiebing was the bad guy, the other two would be indispensable witnesses to put it all in context and have would have to give statements to law enforcement.

How has nobody commented on text size when it comes to showing people texting back and forth? They keep it so damn tiny lately, even when the texts are vital to the plot.
