This part through me off just a bit. Who was Oz taking money from/what for? I'm dumb.

They found out from the guys on trial they were paid to kill Brooks (hence the money their wife/sister gave Perry that was hidden).

They told Perry they didn’t know his name but had a description which Perry with Drake’s help figured out was this Oz guy working for the Black gangster Drake helped take down (with his pictures).

Drake confessed to the gangster that he was the one that took the pictures and that he would refuse to testify if the gangster helped him find Oz. Which lead to the scene where he had to beat the guy up to get his info (with a little extra mustard at request of the gangster).

Giving this our Monday night bump.

Another excellent episode. Della was fantastic in the questioning about the Councilman’s sister.

Della more than held her own in trial this week.

Yea that was a good episode. Was a little disappointed Pete would rat Perry out that big. I get it's a job and you want to get some dirt, but letting them know about the smoking gun was tough. That's getting your buddy arrested type stuff.

I had a feeling that Holcomb was going to end up helping in some way this year.

Do y'all watch after the episode? The guy that plays Drake has the worst hair of all time. A great episode of TV and my main take away is after the credits

Yeah that pissed me off & then Perry accusing his lady friend pissed me off more. Can’t believe only 2 eps left, should be action packed.

Part of me wonders if it turns out to be someone else who broke in and that's a red herring.

Another good one.

So they were dumping fruit to ship illegal crude oil to Japan around the time of the war. fricking yikes.

Poor ol’ Brooks couldn’t get out of his own way and got himself killed.

Perry and Pete having that fight and then swimming back to the shore.

I never saw Hope's character as the big bad. This show delivers.

I figured she might be involved in some shady shite, but I didn’t see it either.

I do really love this show. Really hope people are watching and it keeps going.

I didn't see her as the big bad either. That was well done. Been a really good season and I hope we get more.

I figured that she was involved in the stuff that got Brooks bumped off, but not behind it.

Watched it last night. As always, good stuff. A little lazy writing with pictures of the DA blowing a guy as blackmail. I was hoping it be a little more to it than that.

I think the neighbor seeing Drake sitting out front of the house is possibly going to come back and haunt them.

I'll never get over Erle Stanley Gardner naming that character Ham Burger.

Only halfway through this weeks episode but if they just lazily put a scene in about the oil and Japan in as the reveal (hoping it’s a red herring) and it’s not something we discover when Perry figures is out it will be a big miss. There is a lot I like about this show but there have been things that keep it from being great and this would be one. Hoping it’s just a red herring and I guess I’ll find out tonight and next week.

As for Pete betraying Perry, I also think it’s out of character to an extent. Pete Is a reactor and the ADA pushed his buttons to prove he’s better than Perry but that’s too long a time frame for Petes juice to cloud out his thinking and to make him do something like that. At least he’s come to his senses.

Thought it was a solid season finale.

Sets up future run ins with the upper crust of LA. But the stakes get much higher with all of our main folks settling in with family/friends/partners.

I have a feeling the stuff Paul gets into working for the gangster will translate into him feeding some stuff to Perry in later seasons.

Does anyone know if it’s been renewed for another season yet?

Not yet. I’m going to be pissed if it isn’t.

DEADLINE: Speaking of justice, is a Season 3 coming?

DOWNEY: Yeah. I mean wouldn’t that be nice? Look, we’re focused on landing the plane here with Season 2. At the same time, I think that Matthew and all the other people populating it in front of the screen, all our people behind the scenes, have built this incredible world that I know we could continue to tell really interesting stories about. We would be lying if we didn’t say we’ve certainly been talking to Michael a ton about a third season, but our fate rests in the hands of others.

Unpopular opinion, this season fell flat compared to the last one. The last episode 100% fizzled into nothing.

Della is a perfect character and I don't mean that in a good way. She literally has no flaws. Poor character who was essentially a Duex Ex Machina. She always had the right answer in the right way and has no personal flaws. Her entire arc this season was a rom-com without the block and without the com. In the last episode she sat next to the DA while Perry (the title character) stood behind her, a power move that is not believable in this kind of story. She is literally better than him in every way and they even say it out loud at the end of the season.

The black gangster is basically not a gangster because he only wants to further the black community, no selfish motivations whatsoever, cheapening his character.

The brothers were basically shown to be perfect, having no selfish motives despite killing a man for money. This is a stark contrast to the first season where the mother, though beating the murder rap was still clearly fighting her own demons.

Perry, though a lion in the courtroom, is weak and acquiescent when dealing with all his minority friends. Everyone except Mason is just too perfect.

I hope they've gotten all this out of their systems and can write a gritty noir for the third season or this show will just become a shallow legal drama like Boston Legal. A shame considering how good the first season was.
