If we are all being honest it's damn near ruined by the god awful acting from the clowns in Joker's gang.

WTF was Nolan thinking w/that shite? Those dudes are terrible.

It was like they wanted the mask Joker wore in the TV show's first episode but forgot to leave the acting back in 1966.

*edit*

All these downvotes make me think most of you thought I meant his gang ruined the entire movie. To be clear, I am only talking about the opening scene nearly being ruined by the poor acting.

They were just dumb henchman being used by the Joker. I mean they didn't even know he was there robbing the bank with them. We're not dealing with physicists here.

You're reaching here.

The opening was fine. The last third of that movie after the joker was caught is dogshit.

Some of the best scenes in the movie are in that last third you call crap.

when he was caught and put in jail, then escaped, or when he was caught in the abandoned building with the ferries?

Still probably my favorite movie ever. I NEVER go to the theater twice to see a movie. I know a lot of people will go see stuff 3 or 4 times (especially movies like Star Wars), but I've never done that. I saw The Dark Knight 3 times in theaters.

I sat through that abortion of a movie I am Legend at the IMAX theater in Buford, GA just because I wanted to see the 6 minute opening scene from The Dark Knight in the previews.

Really it was after the line “some men just want to watch the world burn” following Rachel’s death.

From there - pretty much full retard.

The entire series was truly tGOAT until that point. Then it nosedived.

I'm the same as you, rarely ever see things multiple times in theater.

Those movies are:

Titanic (I was like 13 or something and it had tits)
The Dark Knight
Superbad (I was a stoner college kid)
Inception

So Chris Nolan has 2/4

ETA:

Holy shite I was 9 when Titanic came out. That is depressing.

Alfred says that line a good 30 minutes or so BEFORE Rachel's death. That scene was right after Joker and his goons raided Bruce's penthouse looking for Harvey Dent.

Pretty much all the extras with speaking roles in TDK are way over the top. Dent's press conference is particularly funny

"THINGS ARE WORSE THAN EVER"
"NO MORE DEAD COPS"
"HE SHOULD TURN HIMSELF IN"

I think it's a Nolan problem

I was also in middle school when Titanic came out. I think my family saw it 3 different times. The only reason is that it stayed in the theater for so damned long, so the 2nd time we went it was because we were bored and it was raining or something. The 3rd time was because we spent the day shopping or something in Atlanta and the Fox Theater was showing it on their huge screen, so we went.

I think I saw TDK 2 or 3 times.

I saw TFA probably 3 or 4.

Ex Machina twice.

I did see Avatar 3 times in theater.

The worst part of the opening is the bus just pulling into the row of other buses without anyone saying anything.
