Possible Netflix OUATIH series.

Nicholas Hammond said in an interview (keep in mind this isn't a major player, but Nicholas Hammond) that they might do a four episode, four hour cut of the movie for Netflix (similar to what they did with Hateful 8).

We'll finally get to see Tim Roth in his cut role and James Marsden as Burt Reynolds.

Guess I was lucky enough not to see the butthurt you’re talking about. I was a huge Bruce Lee fan as a kid and I just thought the scene was funny. It just built up the Pitt’s character as a rough old stunt actor who could get knocked into the dirt and get back up. And it kind of supported his encounters with the hippies by establishing some physical toughness.

Yes. It is silly butthurt. You have a guy who may or may not even be a reliable narrator recalling an event from his own memory. And, it doesn't even show him hurting Bruce. It was about even and ole girl was the only one mad in the scene (and thus explaining why he can't work on the current project).

The stuntmen - particularly the western stuntmen were the toughest baws in Hollywood - throwbacks.

That flashback scene filled in a lot of backstory for him and legitimized his badassery: war hero; speargun fisherman; maybe killed his smoking-hot ole lady (Rebecca Gayheart); can hop up on a roof with three cat-quick movements; eye candy for the dames with the shirt off; kicked Bruce Lee's arse...well, kind of; remained calm, cool and collected afterwards while lady director lost her shite; loyal to Dalton to a fault...in short, that scene told us exactly who Cliff was...a real life badass dude in a world of make believe.

They should've had three solo movies about Cliff, Rick, and Sharon, before making this film.

You know, like Marvel does.

Just got out of the movie, and I was definitely underwhelmed. It does a lot of things really well, but ultimately the narrative just let me down. It’s definitely in the lower half of his films for me. The finale was excellent however.

This movie pulled everyone in by making it seem like a movie about Manson and Sharon Tate and all Tate does is wiggle her arse and dance around. And 15 seconds of Charlie, GTFOH! This movie was style over substance all day long. Outside of Leo and Andie McDowell's daughter, I was very disappointed and I had very low expectations. And the music was awful outside of about 2 tracks.

This is a fictional movie.

The movie is about what it's about. Two fictional characters that are best friends in Los Angeles and something crazy happens. It's not about the Sharon Tate murders.

Just think for a second. That's like you being pissed off at Schindler's List because the movie wasn't about the Sharon Tate murders.

Finally saw it tonight and enjoyed it.

I thought it was entertaining, with a well done setting that makes you feel almost nostalgic even if you weren’t alive in that era.

I thought it did run a little long, but I liked it and would recommend it. The ending was very satisfying.

Note: Even for Tarantino, that was a lot of bare feet.

I just got back and i'd be lying if I said that movie was what I had expected. I mean, what the hell? Kept waiting and waiting for some typical QT shite to happen, especially in the scene at the movie ranch, and it just never really did. Even the scene at the end was pretty tame for Tarantino standards. 2 people gave up and walked out about 2/3 of the way through.

So you and other people were mad that it wasn't predictable. Why is predictability a good thing in movies and TV now?

Because of franchises like the MCU. The peons and NPCs of this board don't really care for originality anymore, so long as their nerd inclinations are satisfied on screen.

Saw it last night. So glad I hadn’t gotten any spoilers because the twist worked for me. Right about the time I was thinking it was going to be one of QTs worst it totally redeemed itself for me. Not putting it up to #1 but I loved the ending.
Of course I liked how well it captured the time period with the culture, cars, songs, products etc. And in the Brad Pitt/Leo DiCaprio debate count me on the Pitt side. I get that it wasn’t really a stretch for him, character wise, but I just enjoyed his scenes better. However the scene with the little girl after Dalton freaked out was pretty excellent. The Spahn ranch scene was creepy as hell.
Thought the Hippie girl that Cliff picked up, “Pussycat,” and the little girl actor dominated their scenes. Robbie as Tate was just kind of, meh, but maybe that was the point. Just a vanilla actress who’s claim to fame was being murdered by the Manson Family.

I liked it.

Do people realize this was a mid-life crisis film about purpose (read: heroism in the context)? For both Cliff and Rick. The end is a western "shoot up" in 1969.

And the title should have given everyone a clue as to what his intention was.

I'm always the exact opposite of most Tarantino fans and I have no idea why. While Pulp Fiction is magnificent, I think Jackie Brown is a better film, and Hateful Eight was absolutely masterful. Kill Bill also doesn't get enough credit. Bastards was alright.

This was great.

Like I said, I'm usually the exact opposite of opinions on Tarantino. I think Hateful Eight was great.
