I enjoyed the movie. Product placement was wonderful, converting Hollywood Ca to 1969 was incredible- movie theaters, eateries, bars, vehicles etc. The DiCaprio acting scenes drug a little, Pitt and Robbie were outstanding. Pitt and DiCaprio were well fit together. The dog food scene was funny, as well as the Bruce Lee skit.
It would’ve been awesome to see Manson get his justified killing in the end.
Not his best film, not his worst. 7.5/10.

The DiCaprio scenes in his pool while rehearsing his lines were funny, as well when he gets on himself for not remembering his lines in his movie trailer.
Quite a few funny scenes.
I got a little anxious when Pitt was at the ranch- I kept thinking that was going to be the end of his character.
I need a cool Champion T-shirt lol

personally was more impressed by Leo's performance than Pitt's, although I can definitely understand why so many preferred Pitt.
Brad Pitt didn’t really do much other be cool and drive around LA, which I could watch over and over again
Leo’s scene breaking shite in his trailer and following scene as the bad guy on the show were top notch

Agreed. Isn’t Pitt always just cool as shite?

Here's How to Get Brad Pitt's Once Upon a Time...In Hollywood Champion Logo Tee
After we saw the movie we were discussing how those things will be everywhere soon.

Did anyone else get a chuckle when the girl offered to blow Cliff, and Pitt said "pussy had been trying to get him forever but it wasn't gonna be today"? Or something to that effect...regardless, that seemed like a nod to him being a gangster IRL with the ladies. I was glad he didn't hit that too.

He said jails been trying to get him and he isn’t gonna let pussy be what does him in

That was it. Still pretty funny.

I just watched it and thought it was great. I actually mostly enjoyed everything but the ending, but not because it wasn’t good; I’m just a person who isn’t into gory scenes. I did enjoy the plot twist immensely, though, and loved how the dog (and flamethrower ) came through. Also, the Italian actress had me cracking up when she was describing what had happened to the police officers.
Mostly, I kept thinking throughout the entire movie, “wow, what style and aesthetic this film has”. It was just beautifully shot, and the acting by the main actors was fantastic. And I loved the scene with the little girl actress.
ETA: can’t believe I forgot to mention all of the Pan Am 747 shots and generally the attention to detail/inclusion of so many staples of that place during that era (the neon lights, the drive ins, the hippies, the cars, the clothing, the music, the movies, the parties, the drugs, etc.) without harping on any one detail. It really captures the culture so thoroughly, whereas most movies will include only some aspects. I’m sure they’ll win some awards for that.

Agreed with what you said. I loved it, a really great movie that had amazing cinematography, sets/art direction, and the acting nailed it.

QT better feel that way about Hollywood. It’s the entire and only reason a hunched over creep like him could EVER get pussy

The little girl could have her own sitcom.
She's probably flying under the radar a little bit, but lil Anna Kat is gonna be a star one day. She was showing some very good chops at a very young age.

Saw it last night. I thought it was pretty good. Not my favorite QT movie, but not the worst IMO. Dialogue wasn't as bad as some made it out to be. I recently watched IB and caught the Italian Director reference.

Y’all, I have a confession to make. I had no idea this movie had anything to do with the Manson Family until reading this thread after the movie.
Makes sense now why I was so underwhelmed and didn’t get anything out of it

Couple of interesting notes about the movie:
1. The last shot in which we see James Stacy (Johnny Madrid from "Lancer") (who was a real actor) he is riding off on a motorcycle. This is a foreshadowing of real life; in 1973 Stacy was riding a motorcycle with his girlfriend when they were hit by a drunk driver. The girfriend died, and Stacy lost an arm and a leg. However, afterwards he continued to act "as is" and became kind of a spokesman for the disabled:
2. The fellow who played Sam Wanamaker, the director of the "Lancer" episode, also was Spider-Man. Nicholas Hammond played Peter Parker/Spider-Man in a short-lived 1970s TV version:
Earlier, he was also one of the Von Trapp kids in The Sound of Music:

Tarantino was very careful to have songs that were Summer of '69 or older, but for the end credits he jumps ahead to 1972 with music from Paul Newman's Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean. After that they play the Adam West/Burt Ward radio promo, which would've been way too old to hear in the film, but worked fine as a button for the credits.

For what it’s worth, it was okay but not nearly my favorite QT movie. I think the black cloud hanging over Sharon Tate was supposed to create more drama than it did.
I thought it was interesting that someone at the Playboy party said that Sharon had a “type” that all of her boyfriends fit but Manson fit the type, too. In the scene where Manson got kicked off her property, she stands in the doorway looking at him for a while.
The Ranch scene was good except for when Pitt throws the spare tire to the ground and it bounces like it’s just the inner tube.

Just got out of the movie, and I was definitely underwhelmed. It does a lot of things really well, but ultimately the narrative just let me down. It’s definitely in the lower half of his films for me. The finale was excellent however.

Great review of the movie that I think a lot of people on TD will appreciate. Don't be misled by the title:
Tarantino's Most Trangressive Film
I hereby dub the writer (Caitlin Flanagan) an honorary TD baw.
