Honestly there isn't a single thing Whedon did better. Not one scene was improved in any way. It's almost hard to fathom that kind of failure.
That's what happens when you try to re-edit a film into a smaller, self-contained story that was never meant to be small or self-contained. But in Whedon's defense, he was just doing what the studio executives told him to do. The purpose of Whedon's re-shoots was to end the Snyderverse and in that objective he succeeded.

So we all agree that while Snyder wasn’t perfect, he wasn’t the problem with the DCEU, the suits were, right?

I’ve only watched a third so far so far but with Snyder it seem you gotta take the good with the bad. For every scene that’s improved there’s another scene that makes you go wtf

Was more impressed with this film to say give him the money to finish this out.
If people are staying home more often and movie theatres are in shambles, who gives a frick about the run time of the movie.

I dunno, people love seeing Amazon asses and flash falling on top of Wonder Woman I been told.

Don't forget he needed to have it finished in time for the WB execs to cash those bonuses.

About an hour in and just a random thought. How many shirts does Aquaman go through? He rips it off and throws it away every time he goes back in the ocean.
That one Icelandic chick looks like she probably picks them up every time and lays in her bed sniffing it at night

Two and a half hours in and it’s a slog.
I think I should have made myself watch the build up movies to this again first.

I have an hour left to go, and this movie is so much better than the original...im not a director snob and can't really tell you anything about Snyders other stuff, but I just feel like this flows so much better

I was thinking the same thing when he took off his tank top the second time.
I took a break after the first steppenwolf fight.
Unquestionably, it’s more fleshed out and enjoyable than the 2017 version. That being said it is a chore. 2020-2021 is going to be an interesting case study in what happened to the movie industry years from now. I’m invested in finishing and enjoying this but I didn’t mind stepping away. I’ll watch something else with the wife tonight and come back tomorrow or Sunday. That is not how I normally do movies, but after I thought about it, we started and stopped 3-4 movies this week and then finished them up.
I wasn’t expecting the extra blood and f bombs so that unfortunately rules out the kids watching it.

Just watched the whole thing start to finish. It started off slow but I was invested by the final fight. It wasn’t a masterpiece by any stretch but I thought it was solid. I’ve only seen the theatrical cut once like 3 years ago but from what I remember this was much better.
My main gripe with the movie was that it seems like about a solid quarter of it was exposition, which was necessary for the viewer but it kind of bloated the run time. It was a lot to take in for the mother boxes, Darkseid and Cyborg (However I think Flash’s backstory was actually done pretty well). Like for example when Steppenwolf explaining to Dasaad what a mother box was then Dasaad saying he already knew. It is required set up but it slows the pace of the movie. Once we got into the plot more and out of the backstories, the film seemed to go by quicker.
I liked that they made Superman less brooding and depressed and more like Superman, as he was friendlier and came in to help save the day at the end without having a long scene thinking about his actions. The epilogue was all over the place, I just wasn’t sure what to think of that. Also, when I saw Zeus, for a split second I thought that was a Leonidas call back, which would have been pretty badass.
This movie also helped solidify Affleck as a good Batman. I really wish he got a shot at a solo movie. This Alfred is also solid but the Gordon felt sub-par, though he was a minor character.
I was pissed Cyborg never said booyah! I know the actor didn’t want to do it but that’s his catchphrase!

I was happy they broke it into parts. I took some short breaks throughout but I'm so use to binging shows that the 4 hour run time did not seem excessive to me

quote:Yeah, but to be honest the blood and cursing doesn’t go very hard like a Tarintino movie for example. It doesn’t add much. It could have been removed and this movie could have been PG-13 and still good.

He rips it off and throws it away every time he goes back in the ocean.

Wow! DC shite the bed not releasing this instead of that original crap. This could have been the equivalent of Avengers for DC.

This movie is exhausting. I wouldn’t say it’s “good” per se but it has the benefit of being compared to the 2017 version and in relation to that it’s literally Gone With The Wind.

So if this universe continues, it looks like it's going to bear a very close resemblance to the injustice video games. The dividing lines between the heroes and villains is going to be interesting

The Whedon one was below average to average. I don’t hate it the way I do BvS. I’m actually going to watch this one though, since I’ve seen enough decent reviews for it. My friend enjoys it plenty and he hates all the other DC films. That’s saying something
