That 4 hours flew by
I’ve seen several people say this. And look, I really enjoyed the movie, but it definitely did not fly by. A four hour flick doesn’t fly by especially with some of the excess fat this movie has
I agree we need more of this universe, though.

Character development is so much better in this one. As to be expected in a 4 hour movie.

I'm only an hour in but God bless that opening took forever.

About an hour in and just a random thought. How many shirts does Aquaman go through? He rips it off and throws it away every time he goes back in the ocean.

finally finished it during lunch today. leto's joker scene at the end is a 100% better product than what he gave in SS. no tattoos, no teeth bling, face paint instead of pale skin. he was actually witty and funny. laugh is the same, but i can live with it. i am definitely interested in how that nightmare sequence plays out.

Can someone explain to me how Steppenwolf betrayed Darkseid?
If it’s explained in the movie, I missed it.
I was a bit confused because they don’t address it (or I missed it) and they show a character who looks a lot like Steppenwolf lay the final blow to Darkseid in the battle vs the old gods. So I assumed that was Steppenwolf but after reading this thread, I’m wrong.
So curious as to how Steppenwolf betrayed Darkseid and if it isn’t explained in the movie, maybe some DC fans know from the comics
It wasn’t in this movie. It was suppose to build to the New Gods movie that was planned and cancelled.

someone mentioned the music. I watched it with my son, and we agreed too. I was thinking it was a bit too melodramatic
I disagree with this point. I want these heroes who have mostly god-like abilities to be portrayed in the most epic way possible.

Eh you’re equating what I said with something else. The slow melancholy songs can set a tone and the epic songs come in during the action sequences. It’s much better than the white stripes in that Aquaman scene that doesn’t serve the story at all

Another note on the music. Snyder has Allison Crowe's version of Hallelujah in the end credits. He's gotten a lot of flack for using it in the trailer as well as the ham-fisted way he used it in Watchmen. Turns out it's his late daughter's favorite song, which is why it turns up again and again.

Dammit I forgot about that until you mentioned it. That could’ve been a fun movie.

I couldn't figure out anything to do with Martian Manhunter in this movie. I couldn't figure out why he pretended to be Martha Kent to see her or why he waited until after the events to show himself to Wayne.

That's freaking awesome. That makes the closing credits pretty effing touching because that music starts right after you see "For Autumn" pop up on the screen.

It was pretty good. A much better take than the Whedon one.

After this four hour film, watching tonight's 48 minute episode of Falcom and Winter Soldier is going to fly by.

Be patient mister. My famous 21 month late reviews are legendary and worth the wait.
Im releasing my Jumanji The Next Level review this weekend.

The wife and I are about an hour and a half into this. So far it's a much better film than Whedon's shitshow.
Posted on 3/19/21 at 6:06 pm to Saint Alfonzo
Honestly there isn't a single thing Whedon did better. Not one scene was improved in any way. It's almost hard to fathom that kind of failure.

I know the examples from the movie but we don’t hold any other hero to that high of a standard when it’s for the “greater good”.
