He sets up potentially interesting conflicts like those 2 brothers or that corporation hinting at resorting to violence but then it’s either washed away in one scene or he misdirects everything back inside to a family squabble. It’s like you’re right there dude just keep going but no he just repeats the same thing he did before.

It was 100,000 but when he gets on the phone it's 5,000 with grass.
i assumed that was talk of amount of dollars per acre and not the number of total acres
but with the nomsensical writing so far, who the frick knows

Yep, Casey and Monica’s marriage has always been a foreshadowing of the outcome.
Maybe Tate, being half Dutton, half Indian will bridge that gap. Monica commented on how he's growing up.
Edit: I swear I posted this before I read lsupride87 comment. Spot on man. That keeps it in both families.

How can they send their best hands away from the ranch for a year? splitting up all of the couples except of course for john and his hippie slam piece.
Who is left to run the ranch? Lloyd and Colby? Oh and he's sending Gator too? Guess they'll be eating takeout a lot.
lets not even address the fact that as others have mentioned, the cattle drive was a joke of stupidity.
lets start with a cattle drive on property so vast you cant even see where it ends and they go out to do it with just a dozen people on horseback
any ranch of that size rounds up cattle with helicopters and about 50 hands minimum using trucks atvs and all manor of gas powered stuff and if they do use horses its not the main mode of transportation
then the stupidity of the number of cattle dosnt even reach the equivalent of dollar value to justify 1+ million a month they are talking about spending to rent property to keep them on.
you send those cattle to slaughter or you shoot them where they stand, but you sure as hell dont spend 50x what they are worth to house them on someone elses land
i tried to give this show a chance, but they skipped right over jumping the shark and they went straight to jumping the loch ness monster with this stupid writing

If it turns out Jamie isn’t playing this chick and he’s just a gullible dipshit again then they pretty much just have to kill his character off.
i was thinking this as well, how can he be that dumb, maybe he is playing dumb while being directed to by beth knowing he is so weak and pathetic anyone throwing some pussy at him, can manipulate him completely.
that is the only thing that makes sense for the way he is acting, but then i have no trust in the writers to figure this out.
its like they are intentionally making the show so unwatchable that people go watch the 83 and 23 shows

He was a SEAL, not Bourne. He never ran the ranch. Now, I don’t necessarily agree with how deferential he is to Monica; but it isn’t like it’s unbelievable for him to act that way towards her. Dude puts his marital relationship and responsibilities above all the rest, like any good man should. I disagree to the extent that he’s allowed Monica to mope around and dictate terms to him the past couple seasons but I mean it’s not like she is without reason in her action and feelings.
The vision quest last season was peak stupidity though.

Probably still feels guilty for executing her brother.

That too. He’s probably really torn up about that considering Monica’s brother had just shot Kayce’s brother as well and was about to shoot him probably too.

The barrel racer chick needs to do some squats or something she’s hot from like torso up
But that’s all they ever show on her so I guess they know
ETA: bruhhh they’re shoehorning these musical performances in too much

That’s what I was talking about. Corporate woman says something to the effect of “I want this treated like an oil deal in Libya” then simultaneous hit attempts on all the Duttons. It looks like a war facing impossible odds, we’ll find out what the Duttons are really made of… nope it’s Jamie’s irrelevant father who hired some ex cons for what specific purpose? Doesn’t matter Jamie kills him for some reason and the conflict ends in a cell phone pic. Btw where’s his kid and concubine? They were so important to him last season, I guess they’re chillin at the murder cabin. Anyway this is where we are with the show now.

Does Jamie really think Beth will allow him to become Governor. Did he forget about her recording him at the Train Station?

My favorite retort of John about the crazy proposal to just butcher them and starting over...
Genetics.
Mind you these are everyday North American cattle. Not Japanese Wagyu.
John Dutton is worried about genetics of his hamburger meat. I am kind of amazed he even still had a ranch. Guy clearly has no idea how to sort out priorities.
He raises cattle to give him something to do. Not actually make money. That's clear.
When you start viewing this whole setup as John's "hobby", everything makes a lot more sense because it certainly doesn't make any financial sense.

Are you talking about the singer chick from Louisiana? She's not one of the barrel chicks. Completely different girls.

They do have a helicopter. Remember, John gave himself an emergency gallbladder surgery with no anesthesia while riding in it.

Think you’re talking about the singer girl, not the barrel racer. Yes, she does need to do some toning of her lower half.
