I kind of hope they tone MM's character down just a bit. Other than that, I was very impressed. I hope it lives up to it.

They are perfect foils to each other. Family man, traditional guy VS the free thinker outside the box guy. This is going to be great TV.

I agree but I think there needs to be just a hint of a human side. I'm pretty excited to learn more about the characters. I want to know what happened to his daughter and things of that nature.

Why not?

He's clearly a suspect - he's shady. The killing of "sinful/evil prostitutes" by someone that:

a) is a preacher (religious motive)
b) is the brother of the governor (power)
c) someone who MM clearly is suspicious of hence the loose handshake and blank stare (clue bc MM is a being presented as a detective super genius)

... makes sense.

I hope he isn't the killer and there's more to it.

are you joking?

he's not suspicious of the guy. he was pissed that the case was being turned into a moral panic

Did they not already show a human side?

Alcoholism and drug addiction stemming from the loss of his family?

Seems pretty damn human to me

Yeah, it seemed more like "this fricking guy" rather than "this motherfricker is murdering people"

I do think the preacher is a shady character and will factor in. Not sure if it's the murder though.
