For everyone interested in Kilmer, there is a fascinating autobiographical film on Amazon.

As I stated in a previous thread, the original is probably my most hated film of all-time. I despise Tom Cruise and had zero desire the see the sequel.

But... my wife wanted to go, so I decided to take her today. The first half or so I didn't care for it all, mainly due to all the flashbacks and similarities to the original. However, the second half of it was EXCELLENT. I even told my 13-old son that he needs to watch the original and then go see the sequel, and form his own opinions.

Is it one of the best movies I've ever seen? No, not even close. But it definitely impressed me, and was 10x better than the original, well, at least the second half was. Well-done.

Enjoyed the hell out of this movie…better than the original IMO

Lord, the entire final mission sequence was anxiety inducing.

What’s their to figure out? You play offense and defense at the same time.

movie was great, the action scenes were incredible. Tom Cruise is kind of fascinating at how good he was and at that age.

The 2nd half of the movie, and last 20-30 min was elite for any movie.

My only gripe, is I thought they could’ve done a lot more with Miles Teller, obviously the focus was on his relationship with Maverick, but they could’ve done more to show us who he is and gone more into his personal life/love interest in the film.

In dogfighting you’re playing offense and defense at the same time, i.e. engaging and evading at the same time.

Just got home from watching. AWESOME!!!

Was disappointed that Viper wasn’t in it. Would have been easy to have one scene where Maverick meets up to ask him for tips on teaching.

Just got out of IMAX.
Best movie I’ve seen in years.
Probably top 10 all time of that genre.

Viper

He'd have to be pushing 90 by now.

Just checked, Tom Skerritt will be 89 in August.

What would be the best theater to see it at in BR taking into account both sound and screen?

AMC on O’Neal, in Dolby Digital

He said he filmed one day for this and it was the funeral scene. Said he was just in the crowd and he didn’t think it made the final cut
