The show has pretty much lost me. I don't give a shite about any of the characters besides Michonne really. Every week it's just the same shite in a different setting. I think 90% of the episodes of this season have had a closing montage over some emotion-evoking song.

Has there been any discussion on what y'all think was on fire?
IDK if this has been addressed or not, but I was under the impression that the fire was the one Daryl and Beth started. I assumed all of these episodes are happening chronologically at the same time more or less.
I do believe it was the house that D&B set on fire, as they were leaving there was a herd of walkers approaching, they're all pretty close to one another. The smell of the charred walker had to be torture for Tyrese

Did anyone mention the possibility that maybe it's the Terminus that's on fire?
But it's likely the house Darryl and Beth set on fire.

I feel like that fire was too close. They made it sound like they still had a pretty decent trek ahead of them before getting to Terminus.

I get not caring about any of the characters, but why would Michonne be the one you care about? The audience knows next to nothing about her after like three seasons. She's one of the least defined characters of the entire show, and she's spoken about fifteen lines of dialogue in her tenure on the show.

Then why are you in this thread?

Dude, it's fiction. I hate to tell all of the zombie apocalypse preppers out there, but the whole premise of real zombies is impossible. Just don't think that deeply into it and enjoy the show for what it is, fiction.
there was a documentary this weekend on the origin of Zombie movies and they were all usually metaphors for some aspect of society or human culture or a political statement, Dawn of the dead was the 1st movie (according to the documentary) to take the metaphor to actual dead people walking around. I know its not plausible but I like the zombies

yeah it's a tough subject matter to dramatize, b/c in real life it would be incredibly boring and character development would be basically what we saw last night (but a year prior)
that was where i was going last night but i got diverted. the show isn't about zombies. the use of zombies is a crutch. it takes away from the reality of the drama AND the character development, which is supposed to be the focus
that is what lost me. too much repetition. it's why i said tWD is a show that should be over by now. the story should have run its course. now they're going to go to a new "salvation" station, probably spend 0.5-1.0 seasons there, and then some "Bad" leader guy will frick it up. that will be the 3rd (?) example of this (CDC, farm, prison)

Last night when Tyrese, Carol and the kids first saw the house, I could have sworn I saw someone walking in front of the house that didn't look like a walker. Did anyone else see that?

night of the living dead. it completely changed the zombie genre. it created the "walker" zombies and the flesh eater zombies
and it was a movie about revolution at its heart

This. Tyrese mentions that he thought they had "3, maybe 4, days" of walking left to get to Terminus. I immediately thought it was the cabin from Daryl and Beth.

not exactly true, she has shown gradually at times her human vulnerabilities, she's similar to Darryl in the kind of emotional wall that they had constructed since before the apocalypse began.
she's bonded with carl and has evolved from a loner and essentially a "walking dead" to a pretty dynamic character....you have to see what shes not saying

There's been a dead child or zombie child in every season so far. I don't know why people are shocked about this.
Season 1- Girl Rick meets in episode 1
Season 2- Sophia
Season 3- Governor's daughter
Season 4- Meghan, Lizzie and Mika
Makes me think Judith will be next.

Honestly, that was one of the best episodes, probably the best episode, they've put out.

Because they weren't zombies when they were killed. One girl was murdered by her own sister and then the other was executed. But yeah, we should have totally seen that coming, right?

I do too, which is why I'm not going to get hung up on the logistics of zombies (like why is their pants not weighed down to the ground with crap if they are still eating and stuff like that).
And why people have to come on this thread and gripe and complain about this show after almost four seasons is beyond me. If you haven't liked the second half of this last season, then quit watching because this is as good as it will get for this type of show.

I wasn't all that thrilled with the episode prior to its start. I figured it was going to just be filler and not advance the stories any.
Damn was I wrong! We had Tyrese bond with Carol. Carol, the person that he doesn't know killed the woman he loved.
We had a good, long look into the dark place that is/was the older sister's mind. Translation: bitches be crazy!
We had a look into the younger sister, who struggles to maintain her innocence in a world that will simply not tolerate it. Not only were Carol's teachings to fall on deaf ears, they would also prove darkly prophetic from an angle that was hard to predict.
We saw Carol finally allowing herself to emotionally reach out to the two girls in a way she hasn't been willing to before. Right as she reaches out, one is taken away and Carol has to "Ol' Yeller" the other (the one that tried hardest to win Carol's heart).
We saw Tyrese open up and bond with Carol over his love's death. The scene outside with the tree, Tyrese had the pistol on his hand the entire time and was at Carol's back. I just knew he was about to headshot her, but never did. And then, after the girls are gone, she admits what she did and tells Tyrese to do what he feels he must do. She realized she had become almost as bad off as the girl she had just killed (due to being overly hard and cold) and might need to be put down. And Tyrese fricking FORGAVE her!
All of this within the framework of "they've found a good place they could stay in and be safe". It wasn't the zombies that got them this time (like at the farm), nor was it a group from a rival town following a deranged leader (the prison). This time the thing that pushed them out of a potential haven was from within the group.
Great episode, unexpected twists (or at the least, unexpected at this time) and great performances.

The fire has to be Darryl and Beth's cabin.
Something that's been unrealistic about this part of season 4 is that the characters seem to be really far away yet all walking in the same direction.
How far could they have run from the prison? The prison gets overrun with zombies, and they sprint away. Unless they've been training for marathons, they all made it a few miles away before getting on the same track to Terminus.
Something else about this season - before settling into the prison, the characters were on the run looking for food and places to stay, and they treated it like a warzone with no hope. Then they found the prison. Yet, now they walk for a few hours and find not only houses stocked with food and supplies and zombies in small numbers but houses that are free from cobwebs, decay, and infestations.
I mean, I think each small group has found their own pristine antebellum home to chill out in. Most of them also have an adult male, adult female, and at least one kid.
They could easily all settle down separately to repopulate Earth.

we obviously need to add "NO SFP" to future Walking Dead (or for that matter, every Movie/TV Board thread) threads. He completely derailed this thread. And, he derailed every single True Detective thread.
Hey SFP, go back to the OT and let the rest of us have normal conversations.
