The Russo’s or Feige said that there were two reasons why Thor was able to strike Thanos with Stormbreaker in IW. The first and primary reason is simple: He caught him off guard with most powerful weapon in the universe outside of the fully realized guantlet that was on Thanos’s hand. The secondary reason is that Thanos was still figuring out how to use each of the stones, especially in unison.

A great fight would have been 2014 Thanos with his blade against Stormbreaker IW Thor. We know Thor could best Hulk and that was before he fully realized his power and had Stormbreaker. We all saw Thanos spank Hulk like Bane whooped Batman in TDKR so it’s clear those two are the top 2 in the MCU at throwing hands.

The only moment I wish we would have gotten was Hulk throwing down with Thanos again, if only briefly to help Tony get the Guantlet. Maybe have him wipe out Cull Obsidian with a quick Tyson combination first.

Speaking of power, who would you say are the strongest now?

Thor with Stormbreaker
Captain Marvel
Doctor Strange
Scarlet Witch

Thay would by far be the top four

I would like to have seen some
Cap vs Corvis
Hulk vs Cull Obsidian
Witch vs Proxima Midnight
Ebony Maw vs Strange

Kinda like rematches from IW. Im a big fan of the Black Order, really bothered me how easily they died in IW only to come back here and be killed again in 5 min with little screentime. I understand time constraints but damn

If done properly, it wouldn’t have been good. First, Professor Hulk is weaker than savage Hulk or whatever Hulk is being considered. Secondly, after Professor Hulk snapped the gauntlet, his arm and shoulder (and posibbly more) were sleep damaged. So infinity war

I wanted that too, all 5 OG Avengers left throwing down on Thanos at once for a few minutes before the cavalry showed up. With how he manhandled the 3 though, you wonder if Hulk would’ve even made a difference.

They essentially made Thanos without the Stones god level powered. The Tony snap was the only way he was going to be beat. That punch to the dome on Marvel proved it. She got knocked the frick out of the whole movie.

I just got done watching it and overall I enjoyed the experience. The jokes were hilarious, the feels were all too real, and (most) of the character arc conclusions were satisfying. I think all of the actors really brought their A-game for this.

The Thor/Lebowski mashup was just awesome. I thoroughly enjoyed every second of that.

Tony seeing his dad one more time was an unexpected gift that I really liked. Really, all of his interactions (with Morgan, Pepper, Peter, etc.) were just perfect.

Scarlett and Renner were great together. Again. That whole thing on Voromir was rough.

I thought Banner/Hulk was just okay. I was getting X-Men Beast rip-off vibes. His best moments were when he got Thor from New Asgard and his moments with Ant-Man, but even then it was more Hemsworth and Rudd carrying the bulk of the experience.

I really enjoyed most of Cap’s moments. The butt jokes were hilarious and him getting his dance/life with Carter was very heartwarming.

I didn’t care for Falcon carrying on the legacy, though. I really felt that role should have been built up for Bucky to take over. It’s not a big deal, though.

My other thing was the Captain Marvel character. I didn’t watch that movie, so this was my first experience with her but Jesus she is a sanctimonious bitch. Completely unlikeable. I’m very glad she didn’t get too much screen time.

Yeah I thought that was a rather heavy handed plot device to keep him out of the general melee.

I suspect a major power level uptick in Doctor strange 2

I mean they could've had Panther or Spiderman fight them or something but the returned characters didn't get too many cool things to do.

It’s probably been said already, but I thought that Captain Marvel was a square peg in a round hole in this movie. I thought she’d have a bigger role since she had this large buildup beforehand. She was basically an afterthought that served no real purpose.

I do not know if I really like a past version of Thanos essentially being the main villain of this movie. I guess they kind of wrote themselves into a corner by killing current timeline Thanos 10 minutes into the film, but there's just no emotional connection to this version of Thanos. It didn't help either that he felt like a different character. Much more stereotypical evil than the nuanced portrayal he got in Infinity War.

Thanos becoming a typical movie villain after how awesome he was in IW was really disappointing.

I couldn’t believe they wrote him saying “now it’s personal”

The ending with Captain America should have been with BUCKY.

Half of the overall story was driven by Cap’s relationship with Bucky. That was Cap’s core drive. Give Falcon the shield. Fine.

But how do you NOT have Bucky hug Cap and have Cap’s last words be “it was worth it”?

HOW can you get SO CLOSE to the finish line and trip on that?

My point stands. Her minor role in this movie was a major letdown.

yeah, how lame was that? I mean damn, Corvis Glaive is supposed to be the 2nd baddest mofo under Thanos and in both movies he went out weak af.

I think the movie implied that Cap and Bucky already had their moment off screen. Bucky seemed like he knew what Cap would do all along.

Are you talking raw power or we talking overall abilities?

Stormbreaker Thor who is in shape is definitely the curve setter in terms of raw strength. If you are in combat with him, you’re fricked. Number two would either be Captain Marvel or Prof. Hulk.

Now in terms of abilities, Strange is definitely ahead of Wanda right now. She’s basically learning as she goes along.

Depends on your fight style.

For that hand to hand warrior style combat, it’s Thor then Hulk/CM in some order after.

For that “mage” style, where you aren’t throwing hands but can still whip arse: Strange then Wanda.

If Vision were still around and in his prime, he’d be an interesting combination of both classes.
