I previously wrote, prior to the film's releade, my theory that the character John Blake would be Nolan's version of Robin in this film, and it of course turned out to be pretty much true.
"of course?"
Full of himself, isn't he?

I was let down but I read the 200+ comic books that told this story, the first and only comics I have ever read. They did a TERRIBLE job with Bane. In the comic books he was got his power from Venom which was a super steroid that also made him agitated. It would have been way better if they had used that....maybe they didn't because Nolan didn't want to use CGI and Bane blew up whenever he took Venom. His voice also was horrible. Catwoman NAILED it and Ra's Al Ghuls daughter was great even though that story wasn't faithful to the comics at all. Overall it was a great movie but Bane was just such a let down. If they would have nailed him the way they nailed the Joker in TDK it would have been one of the best movies ever.

IMO, Bane's character was better than the Joker's. Sorry you read the comic books and thought that Bane would be the Hulk.

Well they stayed away from that I would imagine because it wouldn't fit into the realistic world he created. Did you see the abomination that was Batman and Robin? They juiced him up with crap going into him and it was horrendous. I doubt he would want anything that even was remotely similar to that take on Bane. Also Nolan wasn't worried about keeping the story itself being close to the comics so the Talia Al Guhl story line wasn't going to be similar.

Loved it! And I really enjoyed all the subtle nods to the Knightfall, The Dark Knight Returns, and Year One storylines. Also liked the idea of the prison serving as a 'spiritual' Lazarus Pit.

They show a 5-8 second shot of batman in the cockpit with roughly 10 seconds left until detonation. You cannot see anything except his face and the seat behind him and there is a crinkled light effect over the shot that is very noticeable

I disagree with this. Just because they didn't go word for word from the comic book doesn't make it terrible. I thought Bane was an excellent character/villain.
Also, the mask Bane wore was using some kind of gas to keep his pain at bay, so they didn't stray to far from the "venom" aspect of the comic book. Just a different take on it.

He ejected in the cockpit and is already underwater during that shot.

Which direction is his facing? Is he looking slightly up like he's under water waiting for the explosion, or is he facing forward looking determined to still release it?

Don't remember. I think he's looking straight. To me, it looks like he's waiting, but the light caught my attention not the face

Interesting. Obviously he bails out, but it would cool if they show you without you realizing it because the viewer expects him to be flying the bomb off, not ejected. Like hiding it in plain site.

should have had Scott Steiner play Bane.

As I recall (and I am prepared to be corrected if incorrect):
1) it seemed as though he was looking up slightly (with his eyes, not his head - if that makes sense); and,
2) he seemed to have a peaceful look to him (at least, that part of his face you could see).

OK. I’ll give my 3 cents worth. Sorry if it’s long. Like many of the people on this board, I am a fan huge Batman fan. Not just these movies, but the other Batman movies, the cartoons, the old 60’s TV show and comic books. I tried not to read any reviews or comments before the movie. I saw it last Saturday and thought it was really good and overall a fitting end for the trilogy. The next day the more I thought about it the more I realized something didn’t about the movie set well with me or maybe I missed something. I didn’t have that second day excitement like I did with BB, TDK, the Avengers, etc. I didn’t talk with my buds about it like I did with other comic book based movies. Then I read all 70+ pages on here and was like WHOA! Either I missed tons of stuff or Nolan and crew really goofed or some folks on here are going a bit overboard with the comments. So I went back last night to watch it again and I’ll admit it’s a little of all three.
1) Missing small details – I’ll start off with this. I remember seeing BB and TDK at the midnight features, during a work night. I remember walking out of the theater pumped up but exhausted. After seeing both of these a second time, during the weekend, I noticed much more detail, things were clearer and many of my questions were answered. So, I purposely decided not to go to the midnight show because I wanted to be alert. But a new problem arose. The Aurora Colorado shootings. This may sound odd, but I had NEVER had the odd feeling I was having when I saw DKR for the first time. It was kinda like a paranoid feeling as soon as I sat down. And I don’t think I was the only one who felt this. You could tell every time someone would get up or walk in during the movie, everyone would watch. And not just a glance, but actually watch. Before the movie, people were looking around to see who was sitting near them a little more than usual. For most of the movie, this feeling stayed with me and as a result, it cause a minor distraction. Going back almost a week later, I had none of this feeling and the movie was much much more enjoyable. So my point is, I would advise anyone to go see it a second time. A lot of problems listed on these 70+ pages was shown or explained in the movie.
