this was the most egregious of all the mistakes Nolan made in this one.
That's not really a mistake.
Frankly, I thought it was perfect, made even moreso by SK's line following it.

He's trolling and has been for a week. I'll be sure to return the favor when the cowboys are on the brink of elimination from playoff contention...again

I actually thought Fox was going to bite the bullet for a bit there.
I would have lost it. I was worried too, sitting in my seat just thinking, 'Oh dear God. Can Morgan Freeman swim? Will he walk on water?'.
As a whole though, I agree with everyone's review. The ONLY thing that slightly dissapointed me in this movie was Bane spends two and a half hours asserting himself as the 'big bad' of the film (And doing a damn fine job of it), and then boom! Thalia is all of a sudden the mastermind? I felt Bane got jipped.

Back to the spine injury. Batman did have 5 months for it to heal do to the decay of the bomb. He only got to gotham 1 day before it was going to explode so that might have given him long enough to recover.
Right, so he recovered, then tried the climb and fell full body weight on a rope around his waist (that I think killed a previous climber). Then recovered again, then fell again. Then recovered again, then finally made it. All after a displaced vertebrae.
I'm not saying it ruined the movie or anything, but it was definitely WTFish.

Agreed. Especially when the tunnel flooded.

Agree with that too. In a matter of two minutes, Bane went from the mastermind of terror and destruction to merely an insignificant pawn.
I understood why and didn't dislike it, but it definitely seemed kinda shitty for the character. Also wouldn't have guessed that Bane was that much older than Thalia.

Yeah I noticed, he pops up and tries to point out holes in the movie, then someone explains that its not really a hole, and then he says "you fanboys will defend anything, lol."
Unfortunately I didn't realize who I was responding to until it was too late.

The 2009 Vikings cowboys divisional game thread was an epic meltdown by tiger rhino and Michael j cocks worsened by the fact that the saints won it all

I was expecting Alfred to die the entire movie; I read a comment on a review on rottentomatoes saying as much.
I had a hard enough time keeping it together when he cries at wayne's funeral, but if alfred were to be hung from the bridge or something? no bueno.

2. How the frick did Alfred just randomly dig up bane, his backstory and his affiliation with the league of shadows (this is an example of my #3) I always thought that ra's and the league of shadows were so clandestine that a butler (even batman's) couldn't just go on the computer and easily dig up this information. I get that bane was on the CIA's radar, but how could there be any existing evidence (online no less) of the prison he was born in or about his relationship with Ra's al ghul. There had to be a better way of establishing that batman is not a physical match for bane without Alfred blurting it all out in one sentence during a conversation with bruce
You do realize that all of the info that Alfred dug up about Bane was wrong, right?

Same. Their was an hour long period of the movie where he was MIA, I was positive that Bane had captured him and we were in for this OH shite moment btw Bane/batman.
I was almost pissed when it never came, I just think it would have been perfect. Bruce and Alfred had just had a huge fight, I think if Alfred had sacrificed himself for Bruce or vice versa, it would have brought down the house.
I have no idea how the comics played out but I'm guessing Alfred never died which is why we didnt see this.

I had a problem, With this until the second viewing. Wayne asks Alfred to dig up the dirt on bane after Blake's visit. So 24 hours of digging with Wayne's resources, I can see Alfred getting that info
Basically every plot hole I thought they glossed over I noticed how they covered the bases the second go round and now love the movie. I just didn't know what to make of it after a midnight showing

I kind of wondered about it, up until the point that all of Alfred's intel proved to be wrong. It was likely planted by Talia al Ghul/Miranda Tate in order to trick Batman.

The first time It just kind of seemed like Alfred went on bane's Facebook page

It wasn't that bad. He had essentially been defeated by Batman, and then his true love showed up. He was physically beat down by Batman prior to that.

I was not that impressed with TDKR. I think the whole nuclear bomb plot was a cop out on Nolan's part. Also, Bane WAS born in a prison in the comics and I thought the twist regarding that was pointless because that's what makes him such an interesting villian. Bane wasn't developed enough as a character like the Joker was in TDK. The biggest difference between the two movies is that I found TDK to be more suspensful because you never knew what the joker was planning next. TDKR was too predictable and left me disappointed.

I agree. At that point of the movie, it does seem odd. But, once they reveal that the information is false, the oddness completely dissipates to me. It became a non-issue because it no longer applied to Bane and you realize that Alfred's information was wrong. Essentially meaning that Alfred didn't do anything outrageous or incredible or unbelievable.

I guess knowing about the recovery for this injury IRL ruined it for me. 5 months of inactivity, MAYBE. But definitely not when lacking proper care, partaking in strenuous exercise, and having your lower back jolted by a rope from a 50 foot fall at least 3 times.

His relationship status: It's complicated.

I don't remember it being wrong but I might be wrong. Ha
Bane was born in the prison (so was talia this is the basis for their bond)
Bane was trained by the league of shadows
Bane was excommunicated
All of this happened. The misdirection is Bruce's assumption that bane was the child who escaped and that he was the child of ra's al ghul
