Alfred's information was wrong. Essentially meaning that Alfred didn't do anything outrageous or incredible or unbelievable.
Except Alfred lead Bruce astray with false information which ultimately led to Bruce dropping his guard and literally being stabbed in the back. Nice Alfred...REAL nice...

I agree. At that point of the movie, it does seem odd. But, once they reveal that the information is false, the oddness completely dissipates to me. It became a non-issue because it no longer applied to Bane and you realize that Alfred's information was wrong. Essentially meaning that Alfred didn't do anything outrageous or incredible or unbelievable.
1) You need to think back to TDK, when Alfred was telling the story about he and his "friends" taking care of a jungle warlord. Obviously, Alfred has not always been a butler, and was likely some sort of special ops badass in his younger days. It is not that far-fetched that be might still have some contacts in the intelligence community (note that the CIA knows about Bane, and their intel/info was off as well).
2) We are talking about the League of Shadows here... They are great at deception/misdirection and since they (Talia/Bane) already know that BW is Batman, they are in a perfect position to feed misinformation to him.
3) BW is also mistaken in thinking that when Ra's died, that the League died with him. This is why he was so willing to believe that Bane was separated from LOS, because hin his mind, there was no LOS anymore.

Bane was born in the prison (so was talia this is the basis for their bond)
I don't remember the movie saying Bane was born in prison as well. Maybe I need to see it again.

Talia was born in prison, nothing showed this regarding Bane. That is where the misdirection occurred. It was unclear to the audience where Bane actually came from.

So whose alter are you?

"I was born in the dark, I didn't see the light until I was a man"
Added to the fact bane is traditionally born in prison. I took it to mean he was born in hell on earth as well. Plus what else would his attachment to talia be. Why protect her if not for some mutual bond they share

And that was my biggest problem. The whole reason Bane is so bad in the comics is he is pissed off about his background. Nolan essentially stole that and gave Talia his background and made Bane a bodyguard essentially.

My only real problem with the movie was Bane's Dr. Evil voice. Otherwise, good film.

How is this a boom?
And why am I being "boomed" in a movie discussion thread?

Because you outed yourself as an alter....cough cough....lurker
Bannable offense. Don't worry, you can just use your fear to climb out of your ban prison with a leap of faith

I think that could be a reference to Ra's Aghul showing him the light once he was rescued by Talia?

Not really. I've made it pretty clear on saints talk I've lurked for several years

" longtime lurker" = preemptive alter defense

yes it is. you have a minor character who was just introduced in the third movie all of the sudden be the one to get the glory of killing the baddest of all bad guys. LAME in every sense of the word. Batman should have ended Bane. it would have been perfect. he finally breaks his rule--he truly gave gotham everything---and then he retires (hides, whatever, starts over).
Bane's death was totally unsatisying.

That's fine, doesn't mean I'm an alter

was not that impressed with TDKR. I think the whole nuclear bomb plot was a cop out on Nolan's part. Also, Bane WAS born in a prison in the comics and I thought the twist regarding that was pointless because that's what makes him such an interesting villian. Bane wasn't developed enough as a character like the Joker was in TDK. The biggest difference between the two movies is that I found TDK to be more suspensful because you never knew what the joker was planning next. TDKR was too predictable and left me disappointed.
you better shut your mouth! who is your favorite football team? lulz.

You might think its lame and unsatisfying, but that doesn't make it a mistake.
