Dont hold your breath. The performance is so good and considering what happened all we'll ever get from that is the final cut and I'm ok with that

I'm with you in that I hope we get some interviews from Ledger about his thoughts on the character, but I won't be surprised if they don't include it. Nolan has made statements in the past about leaving his life and death in real life and not in the films, so I'll respect it if we don't get to see that footage. His performance as the Joker is probably the best out of the trilogy, and I think that would apply if he wouldn't have OD'd

They may not include it because they probably don't have it.

Aren't those done a fair bit of time after filming?

Bring the actors back to revisit and discuss their characters?

He died 2 months after filming and almost a year before the DVD release.

I have no idea how the time tables on something like that go. I would assume they do it as soon as the film wraps so that everything is fresh, but that's just my assumption

I'm a little surprised by this. I checked out that board on friday and most posters there were thrashing the film.

You see this quite a lot on any IMDB message board for a film that has just had a big release. There were idiots on the boards blasting The Dark Knight when it came out, The Avengers when it came out, and now they're doing the same thing for The Dark Knight Rises. A few have legitimate complaints but most are just trolls trying to piss off sensitive fanboys. I've been around IMDB long enough (almost 10 years! ) to know how people will react on those godforsaken forums.

Just got done with an IMAX showing

Great movie. You could literally feel the tension in the room on some scenes. Only complaint was the ending. Not that it was "bad" like some are saying... Just that it seemed a bit rushed. To build a franchise up that much and to have a movie that epic (I hate that word) with characters that developed wrap up so quickly seemed a bit rushed.

That being said. No real complaints. Great movie/experience. Glad I got to see Nolan's work with such a iconic character/franchise.

What about those people who thought The Avengers was awesome, TDK was great, but TDKR was meh?

I'm hoping with a box set we finally get some special features and deleted scenes, interviews, commentary, making of type stuff

I definitely want commentary and a 'making of' documentary along the lines of the "Empire of Dreams" movie we got on the Star Wars DVD release.

I doubt we'll get either though. Nolan, like Spielberg, tends have little bonus material on his DVD releases. But since this is a multi-billion dollar and critically acclaimed trilogy, I hope he makes an exception with the trilogy box set release.

Batman was in his prime then, he would have torn into Bane.

Like I said, a few of those people on IMDB actually come to the forums and post legitimate complaints. I don't dispute that there are people out there who didn't like The Dark Knight Rises and I'm perfectly fine with that. It's just been my experience on those particular forums that, more often than not, people go on there to troll other people. IMDB is arguably the troll capital of the internet.

If you want intelligent discussion about a movie, it's better to go to a forum like the Movie/TV Awards. Your IQ will be lowered by several points if you try to discuss the finer points of a movie on that movie's own message board so recently after its release.

Bro are you still here fighting tooth and nail against anyone who could possibly have a negative thing to say about this movie? are you on Nolan's payroll? does it personally injure you to have someone not fully JIMP this movie?

I noticed the troll aspect of IMDB (and was pretty surprised by it, although once you consider the nature of trolls, it makes sense).

Any suggestions on good sites, with good reviews and discussions? I posted my thoughts here because I'm comfy with the sports crowd.

Y'know, maybe part of my problem with TDKR was that I didn't get to watch it in a continuous manner. The theater I was at had a power blip from a storm, the movie stopped and the lights came on, and then resumed about 5 minutes later. Talk about losing the mood... especially after knowing about what happened in Colorado. That sudden, jarring stoppage coupled with a thunderclap and a WTF moment... pretty distracting.

I'm afraid I don't have any sites for you. This is where I come for all of my movie discussions now.

EDIT: Though if you want a good discussion go to the Movie/TV Award forum on IMDB. They talk intelligently about film, although they sometimes come off as snobbish and portentous. A few of those g00bs have too high of an opinion in their taste in film. Still...they won't troll you like these idiots will on the individual movie forums and there is always lively discussion.

I have no problem with anyone who didn't like this movie. However, as I said yesterday, if you post a nitpick that I think is stupid I will respond to it.

Just watched TDKR for the second time, one thought did occur to me:

*SPOILERS*

Did any of you think Wayne was setting up to fake his own death for a while? Obviously the ending implied that he did actually survive but I got the feeling he had been setting up for it at least for a good portion of the movie. He mentioned that he acquired that software Selena Kyle wanted to get a fresh start and in a lot of the dialogue he hinted that he might not make it through the last battle.

Just a thought...

I thought that was pretty straightforward
