No matter how hard you try it's difficult to pick this one apart. It's that good

It's currently #12 on the IMDB Top 250 list after 85,000 ratings. The Dark Knight is presently #8 on the list and Batman Begins is #115.

I really felt like overall it was the strongest. Ledger's Joker carried the second film. This one was the first one that I didn't semi-dislike Bale in. Not to mention, they made up for Sad Turtle Gyllenhaal with Anne Hathaway and Marion Cotillard.

I really really love this Batman trilogy. But the imdb 250 pisses me off. Like 150 of the movies on the list seem to be 00's and newer. People are idiots. Gran Torino is top 100 I think. Thats embarrasing.

The IMDB Top 250 isn't some kind of end-all, be-all official rating system. It's a rating system used by fans of movies. It's hard to argue with a lot of the choices on the list.

I know it has been said but Alfred was really seeing Bruce. Right before JGL saw the Bat fly out over the ocean there was an explosion over some buildings, that was him creating a smokescreen so he could eject IMO. I personally would have rather he just stay dead
Nope. Batman is shown in the Bat flying by buildings after the explosion. See my description of the scene a few pages back.

No doubt.

It's kind of weird that Bruce in the Nolan films was only Batman for 6+ months when he "quit" after The Dark Knight and then he was Batman for another short period of time in TDKR. Makes you wonder when he even used the new Batcave that we saw in TDKR.

The early ratings are always inflated. TDK was top 5 for a good while. Its actually impressive its still top 12.

The Dark Knight Rises started out at #18 and has steadily moved up all day.

I'm a little surprised by this. I checked out that board on friday and most posters there were thrashing the film.

Let's wind the clocks back a year...

I took this to mean not that batman didn't exist then but that he hadn't really had a huge effect yet

I always imagined he had been batman for about 2 years

Did they ever give a precise time frame?

I also wonder if how Blake will take on the mantle of Batman? He doesn't have any money to fund his endeavors and he doesn't have Wayne Enterprises to supply him with the gadgets. I presume he'll devote himself to get the training but his Batcave is now directly under a home for children. Seems like a tough task.

On another note, it still sucks that the Wayne fortune never got restored.

I don't recall if they ever stated it in the movie, but I remember reading interviews where Nolan stated as much. So after all of that training, technically Bruce was Batman for less than a year.

Rule number in movies about badasses. Badasses only become more badass with time. Ergo, Rocky in Rocky IV>Rocky in Rocky II. Batman in DKR>Batman in BB. Bane>Batman in BB. The ante is always getting upped.

I thought DKR was a great wrap up to the trilogy. Bane was a beast of a villain and the voice didn't bother me at all. I do wish Batman would have ripped the mask off one time so we could see his deformity and how much pain it would cause him. I loved the Catwoman role, it wasn't cheesy at all and Hathaway played it perfectly. The ending was very satisfying and I don't think it was a dream at all. I know Nolan is known for his open endings, but I don't think he was going for that here. If he was then when Alfred looked up at the end the screen would have cut to black.

I'd rank the films DK, DKR, BB. I can't wait for the trilogy box set on blu-ray since I haven't bought any of them yet.
