But every movie of this genre requires the audience to ignore those types of fallacies. And while Nolan has grounded the Batman trilogy in realism, that doesn't mean you aren't required to suspend your disbelief when you walk into the theater
I can suspend my disbelief about the size of the whole police dept, although, really, much has been made over the years that the NYPD has more members than many active-duty armies. Still, I could go with a PD of 1/10th the size it should be.

The woefully empty football stadium, to me, just struck of "I really don't care about making this movie" as soon as I saw it. 1 day's video from a Steelers game (or hell, Iowa Hawkeyes for that matter) and you get images of a full stadium. Or use CGI. Either would have been far more powerful than "I'm Bane, and I'm crashing the Poulan Weedeater bowl to announce my presence to the world."

The interesting thing though is that they put a limit on how many people would be in the stadium. More people than that showed up and were turned away.

But he looked like a homeless POS for 8 years. No excuse for that. He could be doing so much good for the world instead of sulking laying in bed

Alford reprimanded him for this very thing. You guys have some big arse microscopes out examining this movie.

Ummmm...if Gordon really knew who Batman was then why the reveal at the end before Batman's suicide mission followed by Gordon's reaction when he figured out what Batman was alluding to: "BRUCE WAYNE???"

He didn't, but Blake was fairly certain during their first encounter that he himself knew, and thus posed a rhetorical at Gordon under the assumption that he probably knows as well. The first time they met was on the rooftop, and Blake really didn't approach Gordon to notify him about the missing Congressman, but approached him to test to see if he really knew who Batman was (because Blake himself was already pretty sure at the time).

(? wasn't the batsuit supposed to stop knives? It was at first, and since he liked going hand-to-hand so much you'd figure he would have kept it that way)

This was explained in TDK. He had a new suit designed because he needed better movement. Fox told him the new suit would be more susceptible to weapons because it was more segmented.

Susceptible doesn't mean entirely vulnerable, though.

Which is one of the reasons why I thought he should've brought the old suit back for the final battle.

Well...he didn't die from the knife wound, so I'm guessing the armor did have some kind of effect.

One thing regarding the stadium...
you have Bane making his cute little remark "lovely voice" (most people in my theater were sorta cringing during the kid's anthem, but I digress)....

it would have been very easy, and much more powerful, to instead have Bane give a little monologue on the sparse crowd, and how only the rich can afford to attend:

"Rome at least gave the people the Circus, but Gotham keeps even that for their elite. See, the Mayor and his cronies sit in their luxury suites, while the stands are barren. I'll take great pleasure in destroying this city"

But maybe the NFL's lawyers scared him off

Holy cock and balls that was good! Wow

So how is everybody interpreting the ending?

At one point Bruce told Blake that anybody can be Batman. You find out that his name is Robin but with what Bruce said and him finding the layer it could make you think that he was taking over as Batman.

Or when Alfred saw Bruce and Selena at the end, do you think he basically retired or was just on a break because the spotlight with his symbol was in the spotlight?

Also, do you think Talia and Bane were lovers?

Wow has no one commented on the fact that Batman broke his one rule and killed? It seems like they just glossed over that fact.

Killed who? It's probably an obvious answer but I'm drawing a blank

It you break the rule in every movie, I don't think it classifies as a rule anymore

He lives. Alfred sees Selina with Bruce at the cafe. If it were a dream, how would he have known that they had a thing going on? Also, if you believe Bruce is dead, then you have to believe that Alfred, the most likeable and innocent character in the whole movie, will live out his life alone and miserable because he believes that he failed the Waynes. I don't think Nolan intended that future for Alfred.

He lowered the rope to let them escape.

Wasn't like there wasn't a time crunch for Gotham.

He didn't directly kill anyone.

Or rather, he didn't act with the intent to kill.

Unless I'm missing someone.

Didn't do it to Dent, or Thalia.

He went out of the way not to kill the Joker multiple times as well as Ra's Al Ghul yet he finally killed Tahlia by shooting her truck.

The new armor were plates.

It would give protection against a random thug slashing a knife, but a League of Shadows trained type person would be easily able to stab in the gap between the plates.
