Watched it again with the wife. It was much better. I still would cut out the whole dream sequence and instead have Clark doing some investigative journalism on the Bat and Batman building a dossier on Superman.

Also the music was atrocious. It took me out of the movie several times. Lex's music was bad as was Wonder Woman's. I was hoping they would have pulled the Nolan music during the truck chase scene and the Martha rescue scene. I think a rescore would help immensely.

Early estimates show it only made about 15 million yesterday, looking like it may have a 70% drop off this weekend

Yep, no way does it make a billion. Now, things get interesting. What will WB do about the JL?

I'll post what I said about it days ago.

I think it makes around 800-900 mil. I still think they make JL 1, though. They just cut the budget back considerably.
I hope this is still the case, but if things go WAY south, the only thing they can do is cancel things and start over. They are already way too far into the Snyder universe. They either have to continue this story, or start over. I don't see how they can bring in a new director when all of the costumes are made, designs, etc and all based on Snyder's designs. I guess they would delay and redo a bunch of shite? Then we're talking about more money on a continuation of a story that was not initially received too well. Looks like Drew Mcweeny might have been right on the money. I've heard they are in fact fast tracking Batman.

Boxoffice.com is reporting 48.5 million for the weekend. A 71% drop

What's really disappointing is it has no competition right now. It should be doing much better than this. Just wow!!

Goddamn DC and WB for fricking this up. I have no words to express my anger.

ETA: So I'll do what Zack Snyder has his characters do when he can't figure out what they should say when they're angry or upset. Yell and scream.

5TH WRITE THRU SATURDAY 8AM: Well, the poor reviews and mixed word of mouth are finally taking their toll on the second weekend ticket sales for Warner Bros.’ Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. This morning, BvS woke up from a hangover to learn that they’re on their way to a -70% weekend drop of $50.7M. That fall off is one of the steepest for a superhero film, notching out the -69% posted by 20th Century Fox’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine. All this despite the fact that Bruce and Clark have the Friday-Sunday period all to themselves, without any new wide threats from the other majors plus the added benefit of 30% K-12 schools off, and another 9% colleges on break, per ComScore. The second Friday till for BvS of $15.3M, down 81%, looks like a collapse because it’s compared to last Friday’s $81.55M which includes $27.7M previews. Even if you back those previews out ($53.85M), BvS’ Friday-to-Friday decline is still big at -72%.

I vehemently expressed my concerns over Hack Snyder helming this project and was shut down by the delusional asshat homers here. I knew he'd frick this movie up.

So this movie tanking doesn't come as much of a surprise to me. WB has had opportunity after opportunity to learn from their mistakes and if they couldn't get this movie right, they'll never learn.

I'm officially waving the white flag as much as it hurts because I'm an avid DC fan and I hate all things Marvel, but frick, this is ridiculous

It appears the critic reviews are finally doing some work. Although audience are still positive, I'm reading where critics have it worse than Green Lantern, tied with Catwoman, and MoS was 'twice as good'

Ben Affleck succeeded in starring as a superhero in a movie worse than Daredevil (44%)

You're a true hero.

Now we know whose statue should replace the current one in Jackson Square.

There's so much negativity surrounding this film that it was bound to happen. I've heard from so many people that they would just wait for it to come out on DVD since reviews were so bad.
