took it as Superman basically acknowledging that he was about to die and wanting to ensure his mother was saved.
Yea that too

It wasn't his "anger" - it was what he believed to be his life's purpose. That's one of the few things the film actually did state outright, and he abandons it in seconds because Superman has a mom and he said her name.
It's completely and utterly ridiculous on every level.
It's the turning point in one of the most popular Batman stories of all time. Look into "Night of the Reaper" by Denny O'Neil and Neal Adams.

By the way, this movie will get a huge increase in sales for Mother's Day.
YYYUUUUUUGE.

So what you're saying is bats put the memory of his mom above his life purpose?

It doesn't matter if it's etched into the side of the mighty Sphinx in heiroglyphics, it's completely absurd in this context.

This movie was terrible. Terrible casting, story, plot, writing, and design. They buithcered Superman and Wonder Woman wasn’t that hot.
Here’s my idea: Have Superman and Batman have epic intros of them saving people. We never got the big hero scene from any of them. Have Superman save Indonesians from a terrible earthquake and Batman save Mexican cops from a drug cartel. World hunger, poverty, and war. They made Superman’s character terrible, and batman’s ears were too short. The plot was rushed and sloppy. Lex was terrible.
I would have Lex use batman villains like joker, firefly, clayface and bane to kidnap Superman and lace him with red kryptonite, then he fights batman. Or should Superman be laced with Posion ivys mind control venom? Lex should have robots. Watch the animated Batman Superman shows, way better.

The memory of his mom had nothing to do with superman's mom other than the fact that they shared the same extremely common name.
I can't believe you guys actually enjoyed that. To each his own but holy shite, it's dumbfounding.

Wait, did you say "Mom"?!
Well now everything has changed.

It wasn't some insane masterpiece, but I got enough enjoyment out of it that it was worth the price.
Very rarely do I go to a movie that I just hate. Only ones I can think of are The Spirit, Ender's Game, and The Last Airbender.
Even then, I didn't leave the theater during the movie.

The name of superman's mom caused bats to remember his own mom.
The death of whom is why he even became bats in the first place.

I meant that scene in particular, FWIW.
I'm not mad I saw the movie. It was bad, but so are a lot of things. Hell I still watch Kitchen Nightmares and professional wrestling, I'm very far from some elitist.

I get what you are saying.
That wasn't a completely awful scene, IMO. It definitely wasn't the worst in the movie. The dream where the time traveler was yelling at Bruce was idiotic and pointless.
I keep bringing that one up because it just really bothered me.

Yeah, the multiple flashbacks and dream sequences made that clear.
My point is that Batman hearing that name, freaking out, remembering something that he clearly never forgot in the first place, abandoning his life's purpose and becoming super buddies in a matter of no time is completely absurd.

There’s no stopping to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, as the movie has grabbed yet another box office record. The Zack Snyder-directed superhero movie brought in $15.05 million at the North American box office yesterday for the biggest Monday in March to date, topping The Hunger Games ($10.8M) and Furious 7 ($14.01M). As of right now, the movie has grossed $181.06 million domestically, meaning that its four-day gross falls just short of topping that of The Dark Knight‘s $182.9 million.
It’s clear that fans are enjoying the movie, otherwise we wouldn’t be seeing these kind of numbers. However, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is expected to suffer a 65% drop on its second weekend due to its negative critical response (currently 28 % on Rotten Tomatoes). Seeing as the movie has managed to exceed expectations so far, here’s hoping that the drop is going to be a lot lower than that.
1. It has no real competition in theaters right now
2. A frickton of hype
3. Honeymoon. Talk to me next Tuesday about their 2nd weekend take at the box office.

BTW, in the comics, there was a point in time where they changed Martha's name to Mary Wayne, specifically because they didn't want Superman and Batman's moms to have the same name.
Carry on.
Carry on.

I found it to be comically bad. In a Batman vs Supeman movie, the dispute that batman was ready to KILL AND DIE FOR was called a no contest due to a lady in Kansas being named Martha. This somehow evoked such an outrageous emotional response that Batman screamed about it for a second and abandoned his life's purpose. And then we're past it.
But you're right, it wasn't the worst scene in the movie by a long shot.
I didn't know what I was watching when the Flash came back in time.

Eventually it will have a bad couple of days and there will be rejoicing in the streets and Nostradamus medals handed out to everyone.

did anyone else find the nuke scene as bad as I did?
"hey should we send a nuke into space?"
President gives cheesy "may God help us" line and they up and launch a nuke into space.
Just retarded.
"you know what would cool as fricking shite? If we fired a fricking nuke into space at superman and doomsday. frick yeah man throw that in there. I can even show a zombie superman....BAD....arse" -Snyder
