I can't wait to see if the Director's cut coming out in July addresses many of these narrative questions or just exasperates them further.

Did he think Doomsday would be nicer to him than Superman? Maybe. Maybe he thought he could control him. But you have to convey that to the audience. That's where the fault lies here. They didn't convey reasoning in this movie very well.This post was edited on 3/28/16 at 11:13 am

It looks like Lex was learning about Apokolips from the ship's "3D story telling" thing.
I can understand if that is Darkseid. As a character, Darkseid looks similar to a lot of other comic book characters. Maybe they changed his appearance to leave mystery but not confuse the common viewer with someone like Thanos.

I think Luthor was just trying to kill two birds with one stone. 1, expose Superman as a murdering fraud. 2, frick Batman too.

Seeing it is different from believing it. Any deaths that Superman had caused to that point had been incidental. Collateral damage. For him to straight up murder someone is another thing altogether.

I don't think they'd do that. Snyder needs a humanoid Darkseid for his slow-mo reaction shots.
