I honestly have a will to understand. I have no idea how this movie can be called "emotional". I was bored to tears, and then got really pissed off when the one good scene occurred and then left. I really want to know what was emotional about it for him.

It would be nice if you could come in here and say that you enjoyed a movie without having to provide a detailed defense of your enjoyment.

What can I say, I'm highly analytical. If I question someone on their beliefs, I expect them to join me on that path. I'm sure it can get obnoxious.

And I was just thinking: why didn't Lex and Batman work together in this film? I mean, he just stole the Kryptonite from Luthor, but why shouldn't Luthor hand it over to Batman highly willingly? He's the guy who by far has the best chance in killing him.

How great would it be that Bruce is having his night cap, and goes into his lounge and Luthor has snuck his way into there helping himself to Bruce's booze. He says he knows he's Batman due to supplies he's ordered from him and that they both see Superman for who he is. Luthor then says that he had the same dream Batman did (which makes it relevant to the plot) and that it's their duty to stop Superman. He is then escorted down to the Batcave, taunts Bruce on the Robin he lost, but gives him the resources to defeat Superman. It's a reluctant alliance, but its all to save the planet.

Then (through something not called Martha) Batman and Superman realize that Luthor played them both and is trying to get Superman out of the way for some super nefarious plan that neither saw coming? Wouldn't that be a lot better?

my guess is that this movie superman is just very unkillable.
So I guess that means we will not get the Superman/Clark Daily Planet reporter story arch again in the movies. Seeing as how Clark is dead and all.

So am I. But that's no reason to trash people for liking the film. I didn't like it but don't have a problem with people who do. Movies are highly subjective.

Does anybody have a theory on why the Joker is still alive? I'm guessing that's why Batman kills now. Maybe he's seeing that he made a mistake by letting The Joker live?

ETA: Now that we hopefully got all of the chaos out of the way, can we talk about theories?

That's what I'm guessing. I'm hoping the stand alone Batman movie is the killing joke

I still wouldn't be surprised if Joker turned out to be Tim Drake or Jason Todd. That would explain why Batman can't kill him. People got mad when I said they would kill Superman. It would make sense considering they approached Ryan Gosling to play Joker, and he looks and is considerably younger than Batfleck. Leto is actually a year older than Ben, so maybe they decided against that route. Who knows where they end up going with this thing, though.

The reactions are more bipolar than Courtney Love.
