A good movie is made or broken by how the audience responds to the character and if they're emotionally invested in the character or not.
Snyder has repeatedly shown that he is not interested in getting the audience emotionally invested into the characters or he just doesn't know how to do that. And the fact that he won't tap into a gold mine of emotional investment in Superman is just depressing and infuriating at the same time. Instead he's just obsessed with making fight senses and more disaster porn with CGI vomit in movies that has mashed up pacing and placement of scenes that make no sense whatsoever.
Snyder has no business directing character driven movies like comic book movies.

After actually seeing the film, I downvoted you.
It was not perfection, in fact, far from it. However, it was not the abortion you portray either.
I feel like I got my money's worth and, overall, was entertained.

Just got out. It's not as disastrous as claimed here, there are plenty of pieces that work and work extremely well, they just picked the wrong guy to form the pieces into a movie
About 40 minutes of the movie could've been cut and made a much cleaner movie including batmans dreams, half the scenes with the senators, Lois lane in general, and supes mom
I felt like 99 percent of the batman scenes were awesome, and only about 30 percent of the superman scenes were worth anything
The CGI of superman healing from the sun might be the worst CGI in a major movie that I have ever seen. Looked like something out of a cartoon
Doomsday was kind of a rushed fight it seemed because they were running out of time
The ending was pretty bad. If they had any balls they would've ended it at the scene where Lois/Batman/Gal are looking over a dead batman. They could've left the extra 10 minutes after that out completely. It was a crazy round about way to shove the JL in there when we already had enough plants to figure it out
Can someone explain to me the last dream of batman? The entire audience was just like WTF is happening
I felt like they were trying to be TOO aware of the plot holes that naturally come with superhero movies and with the critiques of movies past. The voice modulator was a nice touch but the random news clip that determined that downtown METROPOLIS is somehow essentially empty at any point was just kind of insulting. On the other hand I liked how they handled the aftermath of man of steel and the "God" aspect of it, although lex took it a little too far
Wonder Woman is awesome and Gal Gadot might be the hottest women on this planet. I am now convinced of this. She stole the show
Lex was a bit cheesy but I feel there's some potential there now that he's a known enemy
I'm really excited for anything batman in this universe. Affleck was great and I liked how they handled that half of the story
Overall, I just hope this movie does well because I think there's a lot of good stuff to work with in future films if done right and I don't want the whole thing tanked because this movie bombed. So go see it

I thought that they handled that perfectly. People have been bitching non-stop since Man of Steel so they took that bullshite off of the table. Superman taking the fight into space was textbook Superman. Wonder Woman questioning Batman on taking the fight to Gotham was handled just as well. Everybody bitches at Snyder for his mistakes in Man of Steel. Now that he does it the way that everybody asked for, he's a hack. This movie had problems, but noting the lack of innocent victims wasn't one of them.

this should be the synopsis on RT. It really should be.

very similar to some CGI shots of Superman in Returns. Just abysmal. Is CGI really a better option there than makeup and a real actor? It can't be.

if it's the one in the desert then jesus what a whiff that was. So so stupid, time consuming and out of character.

its an EPIC piece of shite the reviews are incredibly generous.
as a movie for non fans of comic books then sure. It's bad from a movie making perspective. For fanboys and comic lovers, it more than works but it falls way short of perfect. Truly a 5 to 6 out of 10 I think

Just got back...
First I will say that I completely understand the general gripe with the movie. The pacing in the first half of the movie was insane, if you don't really have a general idea of DC characters and Justice League then you will have no earthly idea WTF is going on. It moves so fast you can absolutely tell this was 2 movies crammed into one. I'm not sure if this was Snyder's fault or the studio executives, either way multiple people should be put to pasture. Even with the pacing at light speed, I did see what they were attempting to build and it could be fantastic.
The second half of the movie I thoroughly enjoyed, minus a few miscues on the storytelling part but they were minor and you can piece it together yourself (shouldn't have to, but you can). The action was great and each character was able to showcase the ability they bring to the table.
Now to the characters...
Batman/Bruce Wayne- Let me start off by saying this is a different Batman than were accustomed to. 20+ years of fighting crime and experiencing huge loss has jaded him big time. I'm not just talking about his parents. I don't know how many Robins there are in this universe but if they're implying the Red Hood/Jason Todd situation went down then he is most certainly carrying a chip on his shoulder. It was even mentioned multiple times that crime never ends, it just keeps coming. Maybe somewhere along the lines the "I will never take a life" Batman experienced something that changed him, I"m not sure, maybe we'll find out in standalone movies which there absolutely should be.
Superman- Struggling with being a god basically. He does kind of act like a bitch but let's be clear. SInce the Metropolis/Zod incident 3 years ago he hasn't exactly squared up with anything close to his level. I felt like he's still learning his abilities somewhat and afraid to take things to the heights they need to go for fear of being even more polarizing. Cavill was fine but doesn't have much to work with trying to become Superman.
Lex Luthor- Not sure what to say here. I feel like people will decide if they like him on their own. I was kind of meh on him for now but the character could absolutely evolve and become less immature. He seemed like a bratty teenager wanting so bad to be the coolest kid in school. I dunno.
Wonder Woman- She was fine. Didn't build her character up that much IMO so I can't really go in detail because I don't feel like there's much there at the moment. She did look the part though and she held her own in combat which didn't seem out of place.
All in all there are definitely faults/issues that needs to be corrected. Snyder should be let go as well as some producers and studio execs. I don't feel like all is lost though they just need to slow it down. They cannot catch Marvel even though I'm not sure what that even means. I give it a 6/10. Mostly because of the errors in storytelling, editing and pacing issues.

True. As soon as Superman took Doomsday away from the city my first thought was Snyder does pay attention to twitter...

Batman gives me a boner and the movie is filled with dark knight returns fan service, but it still sucked that bad
I don't think my brother has ever seen a comic book movie or transformers movie he didn't like, and he thought it was awful

Wonder Woman, Batman and the action was top notch.
The rest was garbage. Didn't like Eisenberg but didn't hate him.

Did the audience actually say "WTF?" in unison, or did everyone mime it by throwing up their arms. No one in my audience made a peep when they cut to the dream.

Trench oat batman looked cool as frick...ill give Snyder that. The production design as it relates to batman was crazy good. But that's just aesthetics

I will say, imagine if we'd left the theater of a second Superman movie and come back here after having seen Superman tear off saran wrap shields to throw at enemies.

It doesn't make sense though. The place is literally called metropolis. It's a knock off New York, what time of night would the city be virtually empty?
And I wasn't one to complain about the casualties in the first one, I thought they explained it well and showed the magnitude of it.

He watched two aliens destroy his skyscraper and kill his friends and employees. Then he helped take down an alien super-zombie that was so powerful that he killed Superman.
Now Superman is gone, so yeah, he's got a feeling that he needs some superhero backup. If I was him I would've begged Wonder Woman to move to Gotham.

He didn't say the city was empty. He said most of the workers had already left the financial district. Then when Batman takes the fight to Gotham (and Wonder Woman calls him a moron) Batman explains that he's taking him to a deserted port area.
If they had said, "Luckily it's Passover and Metropolis is completely unpopulated." then yeah, I'd call bullshite.

Just finished it. I will elaborate later, but it is the worst movie I've seen since the Last Airbender. That is one hell of an accomplishment. Makes Man of Steel look like Citizen Kane.
