So....not Batman then? I mean the whole not killed people thing is kind of integral to the character, or at least the modern conception, throw that out the window and he might as well roll with twin Glocks because its not Batman.

He wasn't setting out to kill people. He's stopping crooks from smuggling a dangerous weapon and rescuing a kidnapped woman. He's not capping people left and right just to make his job easier.

Just got back. I write this as someone who really liked Man of Steel.

Honestly, this movie was worth my 10 bucks just to see Wonder Woman in action. I was worried when they announced the actress, but she was a badass. When she joined the fray...you could feel the energy of the movie suddenly lift. Including in the audience around me.

I went from not being interested in the Wonder Woman stand alone to probably first night viewing.

The rest.

I did not need to see the Batman Origin...yet again...I get why they did it for the story...but it really killed the first half of the movie.

I feel like there was a very good story in there the whole piece. It just suffered horribly from the pacing. I think whoever was responsible for the editing of the movie needs to be fired immediately. I also though the music was just wrong throughout. They were trying to overemphasis how serious this movie was. It was unnecessary.

One of the reviews I read said it was humorless. Absolutely spot on. I counted 2 things that might of been jokes. Honestly, that hurt the story.

The actors were great...the story idea wasn't terrible and frankly the last 45 minutes or so was well worth it.

Getting there was horrifying and that all fell on pacing

That did bother me a lot.

I'm not a batman fan...but my understanding is he always went to great lengths not to kill people. I mean...if he didn't he could solve his joker problem quickly.

Affleck had no problem killing people. It was very distracting.

We also never really got any context to what Bruce Wayne does on a daily basis and why Wayne Manor is a burnt down shell of itself.

Seriously? You need to know Bruce's daily schedule?

Why does it matter how Wayne Manor fell to pieces? The point is that it's not the normal Batman. It's the older version who'd been through hell.

With all of the stuff crammed into this movie you want MORE context?

I don't see that as a problem. She was great and they planted a great seed for her movie. It's not terrible that she's the best thing in this movie.

at the very least at the end Bruce could ask her "what do I call you?" Just something so that everyone who sees the movie can walk out with a name to the face.

that said, what was this Lex's motivation or is it left out again like all the other Lex interpretations?

God, the reactions on this movie are more mixed than anything I've ever seen.

The first hour is like 90% filler with the scenes cutting from one to the other in rapid succession. Almost everything about this movie was poorly done, but the fan edits should be interesting. Piss poor editing

I agree with this completely.

At times that's what I thought I was watching.

I kind of hope they give us an older version of Batman with him in it.

I thought he was well cast for the role...(I remember all the fanboy outrage).

I was just thinking that. Fans will make this movie better simply with editing. They've done so so so much right these first two movies in terms of places to take the characters yet it's been done with the touch of a rapist so it doesn't even feel like there's momentum.

Just left the theater. My thoughts:

I wanted to like this movie. I really did. I did not like Man of Steel, but was willing to give Sunder another chance.

He failed again.

The first hour and a half of the movie was the most bored I've ever been watching a superhero flick. The scenes were garbage as was the writing and the heavy handed 'artistic' cinematography.

Also, once again, Clark and Lois'relationship fell flat. They are just unbelievable as a couple and the 'I love you' scene was as cringe worthy as the 'kiss' scene in MOS.

The only time I was really interested was when Batman went to save Martha Kent and went medieval on those thugs.

A few gripes:

*how did Lois know to get the kryptonite spear?

*how did Lex plan to protect himself from unleashing Doomsday?

*the conflict and resolution of said conflict between Batman and Superman was built up slowly and ended rather abruptly at the mention of the name Martha. I just didn't buy it. Didn't work for me.

*they spoiled Wonder Woman's entrance by showing her on Luther's hard drive half way through the movie. It would have been way more effective to leaver her out entirely until her entrance with the shield. Then again, even that was spoiled by previews.

*leads me to the previews... They spoiled so much that many moments rang hollow.

The audience I watched it with was very quiet all movie. No cheers, a few laughs and more than a few audible groans.

This franchise is all but dead I'd say.

Cavill is an awesome Superman and he has tons of potential. He just has a shitty director and writers that completely suck and I don't want to be associated with them indefinitely.

I'm soaking in the awfulness still I understand comic fans have their objections to deviation from established characters and source material

As a movie though, this one is going down as an epic turd. I'm shocked the rating is so high

How about the incredibly loud heavy metal music that plays while they're showing her photo? It sounded good in the action sequence, but it was so fricking out of place while Bruce is looking at a photo.

Superman really never showed what makes him Superman and simply saving a little girl and a space shuttle is not enough and is very much the definition of half assing it.

couldn't agree more. Still not one fricking Superman moment. Even his death felt like someone random dying.

shite when he leaves the gala to go save the girl in Mexico, you couldn't do the pulling the shirt open to reveal the S moment? Does he understand the character so little that he doesn't give fans of the character their cumshot?

All the music was out of place. It was distracting.

I saw that Zimmer did the music in the open card and was hopeful.

I think he was on LSD.
