Saw this last night and it was well done. Definitely some freaky parts.
Also, shortly after the movie started an entire Indian family walked in with at least 3-4 kids ranging in age from 4 to 10. Thought they were doing okay save for some foul language and non-nude sex but then Nicky turned ole gal’s face to ground meat. WTF is wrong with people.

If I didn’t care for Sinners could I still enjoy this movie?
Yes. I thought sinners was an Overrated pile of hot garbage and loved this. The two are nothing alike.

I bought it for 20 bucks on iTunes yesterday. Maybe the scariest movie I’ve ever watched.

Entertaining, but aside from a few well crafted jump scares, the horror element was mostly lacking. Also seemed too short imo, could have used another 20-30 minutes for character development pre-wish/allow Nikki’s descent to be more of a slow burn/personal. As is the pacing felt kind of rushed

And was probably immediately charged with a double homicide.
I was thinking she could maybe pin it all on Bear with the way she looked and his suicide. She could say that he found out about her hookups with his friend and he lost it or something.

There were other witnesses that would attest to her perturbed state leading up to all her friends being murdered. She’d be locked up in a hurry

Well she certainly can’t wish it all away. Maybe she could find someone to do so?

Her best shot would be to collect the billions from Ian’s house and either find a Johnny Cochran or a way out the country

I keep thinking it’s like Wishmaster where the wishes are granted but in the worst way possible. Like he got the billion but it’s a billion of marked bills stolen from the cartel and now they are off to track that shite down.

FWIW curry barker has said it’s not a monkeys paw type situation and the wishes aren’t inherently cursed, Bear just made a bad wish

Ah ok very cool but I mean her soul was trapped in some sort of other hellscape dimension?

I actually love this. I know it’s been talked about but really hope they do more in this “universe” with the One Wish Willows. It not being cursed opens up a lot of possibilities. I really hope they stay away from the common trope of “you wish for dollars but you got doll hairs” type of wishes and keep it more creative like Obsession was.

Not Willows specifically, but Barker has said the next movie, Anything But Ghosts, will be set in the same universe, and we'll see some sort of Easter Egg that references Nikki’s fate.

way late to the party on this movie.
I was pretty much out of the loop. Pretty much blind going into it. One of my teenagers rented it on prime and begged me to watch it with them.
Wow. Best overall movie experience ive had all year. Perfect mix of scary, creepy, gory, pop scares. Great timing, direction, tension building, solid casting. Original plot, pacing was erratic but that fit with the intended mood and tone of the scenes.
Just saw where this movie is going to crush on the financial side.
Good for all involved on this one. Its been a minute since I saw a horror movie and felt like I had a great time after watching it.

At $403M, it's now officially the highest-grossing film ever made on a budget of $1M or less.
Hopefully Hollywood learns from this.

Just watched it. Absolutely one of the best horror movies in recent history. I liked both Sinners and Weapons ok, but felt that neither of them lived up to my probably unreasonably high expectations. This one definitely did though. Most remarkable thing to me was that the story and the ending were pretty predictable the whole way (SPOILERS) - i guessed about halfway through that she would end up making a wish for him to return the feelings and that he would die somehow and she’d end up back to normal with a huge mess - but despite that I still found it to be extremely entertaining and creepy. A+

It's still a new movie. I think you should remove the massive spoilers you posted.
