Also, Boardwalk Empire wasn't a good show, and its attempted resuscitation as such has been very confusing.

I liked Fleabag and it was an interesting adaptation from a play with the forth wall stuff but it’s way too high on this list. 30 Rock is too high IMO.
I’m also going to say Succession is too high even though it was good.
Omitting the Sopranos because it debuted in 1999 but ended after 2000 is silly.
Chernobyl and The Americans is too low.

Doing a rewatch of LOST right now and just started S4.
Based on everything up until S4, LOST is a top 5 show easily. Incredible storytelling and acting.
It’s a real shame what the last 2 seasons churned out, especially S5

Better Call Saul is at least top 15. Fleabag is not even a top 30 show.

The problem with BCS is the first few seasons were very very slow. It all mattered, but still too slow.
I’m of the opinion that Breaking Bad is better, but the peaks of BCS are higher

Very DEI list. Chernobyl and Band of Brothers are two of the top shows of all time. Those not being in the top 10 is insanity. Some of the shows here with female leads should not even be top 50.

Yea major recency bias going on with Succession. It was a perfectly fine show and was appointment television for it's entire run, but it is definitely overrated.

i agree with both of these things.
Veep and 30 Rock were just not my bag.
Don't hate the rest of the list though, even if there are some jarring omissions and eyerolls.
ETA: I'll be a rare conservative white dude who liked Fleabag. It was exceptionally pretentious, but it knew it was.

Is it his list or the NYT? You know it is possible for someone to not like Boardwalk Empire and not like Girls.
Personally I liked BWE I wouldn’t consider it great necessarily. Never heard of Girls, i assume some woke, probably LGBTQ+ show?
