the Trump/Satan stuff is just tired at this point
Agreed. As bad as late night TV at this point. The labubu stuff was all right but constantly hitting the same political nail just isn't funny. It's like the loony left has completely disappeared as a target for them.

South Park continues to rip in TV ratings very small drop from previous week and basically highest rates non sports broadcast.
Still double the previous season finale in mid season. That's impressive

I thought when Garrison was Trump it was hysterical and it sort of fit.
It was funny, but they got burned when he won the nomination. Then they were stuck with the storyline longer than they could keep it funny.

Everyone is just sick of this shite. Can they just make an episode that has nothing to do with politics?
We actually talked about this at the bar after the game last night.
It’s incredibly hard to have new and funny content over the amount of years that South Park has been on. It ends up being much easier to just do current events and trends. The problem is that now the only comedy being done pretty much everywhere is current events. It all ends up being the same take on something so it gets old and boring since it’s been done multiple times by different groups.

Hold up. Snl never had a long great run.
The first cast was amazing. But then after Eddie you had those odd 80s years. The 90s cast was great.

Anyone else morbidly curious how South Park handles the Kirk assassination?
For everything they've done over the years, I'm not sure they've ever had to navigate something quite like this where they spoofed a subject and then less than a month later he is murdered in sickening cold blood.

They pretty much had Cartman being Charlie Kirk earlier this season.
Will be interesting to see what they do.
Good taste would mean pulling that episode of Cartman "owning the libs" i think it was episode 1 or 2 this season.
They should really lay off the politics and do an old school kids at school type storyline.

That's my point.
They haven't been this "attached" to a current event of this magnitude before.

Yeah, i thought the same thing.
I just dont see any move for them other than to completely abandon that storyline and pull the old episodes. They love to be edgy but this is unprecedented in their history.

they already abandoned it in episode 3. it was a one episode bit.

pull the old episodes
Would seem weird to pull something Kirk enjoyed

I doubt they touch the Kirk stuff for a while tbh.
So maybe by the end of the season

No. If they're smart, they won't touch it.
That probably means they'll do an entire episode about it.

They pulled the Muhammad episodes including the super friends one where he simply stands in the background
Posted on 9/10/25 at 10:20 pm to DMagic
Paramount pulled the Muhammed episodes because of muslims being pissed. I dont know why anyone would want Kirk's episode pulled against his wishes.
He thought the episode was funny.

Against his wishes? My god you’re a sick human being
Posted on 9/10/25 at 10:22 pm to Madking
Are you speaking for him now that he has passed? He posted the clip from the episode himself and said the episode was funny.

No but you are and of course you use some ridiculous double standard to excuse pulling the Mohamed episodes. We all know why you want it to stay, you’re disgusting

Dude being on south park is a legacy. I would want my episodes to remain up if I passed away. I dont know why that is hard for you to understand.
