Variety isn't random, they've covered the movie industry since before the beginning of Hollywood. The people who own movie theaters tell you she's bankable but you reject this information as opinion? Pretty dumb.

Challengers and The Drama say otherwise. Both are profitable indie releases with her as the lead. The Drama covered it's budget in one weekend.

I don't know what's so controversial about Zendaya on here. Actually I do, it's because people like her and her boyfriend and Timotheee Chalamet would be C-listers 20 years ago but Hollywood sucks so unfathomably bad these days they're the best they can do for A-listers

Yes she is the lead in a tv show that gets no box office money. You are correct. And quite literally zero of the Spider-Man franchise or the Dune series success is credited to her.

It's one of HBO's most popular shows. Zendaya is the romantic female lead in two massively profitable franchises. She most certainly deserves some of the credit.

Challengers made $100 million on a $50 million budget. The Drama made back it's $28 million budget opening weekend. You said no one was going to the theater to see her. I gave two examples of profitable indie movies she starred in that made good money. That's being bankable.
You're wrong about Zendaya. She is a bankable star, as movie people have already told you. Saying "you're retarded" and "you're stupid" aren't persuasive arguments in your favor. Stop being an a-hole.

Dbl post. I will add that I don't think she's a great actress. She seems to have a limited range but seems serviceable. I thought she did a decent job in Challengers and Dune. But she's got a model body.

No doubt. We are only 3 months into 2026 and it MIGHT make it into the top 10 highest grossing movies of the first quarter. Has good chance of finishing in the top 50 for the whole year.

I don’t expect any zendaya led film to make a ton of money, looks like she can only get leads in indie films or play the love interest in other big franchises.
