Pretty much sums it perfectly. Decent actress, not phenomenal. Pretty girl, but not an all time stunner. Also seems like a pretty likeable person. Her real value though is her 175M IG followers.
As for the film, I have no idea how this was green-lit.

Just finished this. It’s the first A24 movie I was just scrolling through my phone while watching it. Preachy. Messaging. Lame.
I’m disappointed in them and it’s the first time this studio let me down.

Well, they treated a grown arse woman who was a horrendously bullied 14yr old and went through a misguided period that she came to deeply regret like she burnt down a crowded daycare
They relentlessly drove home the cliche of the omnipresent American school shooting, which accounts for less than 2% of adolescent gun violence, like some horror that affects us all by some small degree of separation. I mean come tf on, the hog head best friends wife was personally scarred by it? lol
I don’t know about you, but as far as I know idk a single person who’s survived or even been present at a school shooting. The great American gun control boogeyman

You were so oddly defensive about 2A here you completely missed the point of her friend being so scandalized by the whole situation. What her friend did was worse than what she did. Her reaction was projection
2 percent is…a lot. Certainly more than it should be. Weird to think it should never be a plot point in a movie because you think it’s driving some narrative. Lot of plot points revolve around things that are statistically unlikely.

I came away from it thinking that she was the victim of their unfair treatment more than anything. The friend that locked the special needs kid in a bus in the woods was easily the worst, and Robert Pattinson's character came off terrible too.

Guns this, school shooting that. In reality, nobody would have reacted like Alana Haim’s character did. And if they did, they’d be cordoned off, ignored and ostracized at the very least from a personal level from Zandaya;a character. Then the way Pattinson’s character just can’t handle it was ridiculous. If Zandaya’s character had actually planned something like this, then became an activist, that point would have been driven then and there. If she was drunk during the dinner and couldn’t defend herself then, she clearly would have been able to later, especially showing what kind of conviction she had as a teenager.
Even if it was just the material I didn’t like, if you make a good movie it will reel me in regardless. This didn’t do that. And it could have.

That's the whole point of the movie. How can you not understand this? The whole point was the girl who planned the school shooting but didn't follow through was the "normal" one

Not sure where Stansbury has been the past decade, but Zendaya has been featuring in major films since 2017. They aren't trying to get her over in 2026, she has already gotten over. She was in 3 of biggest movies of the year this year.

I enjoyed the movie. Wasn’t sure how dark it was going to get at the end. Thought it might turn into the Red Wedding pt II
