For someone that doesn't care, I guarantee you won't be able to resist being all up in the discussion thread when the movie comes out regurgitating what you saw on RedLetterMedia and giving us your terrible script ideas.

Cool another Star Wars movie. Don't have enough bad ones, let's keep stacking them up.

Looks interesting, almost a little Firefly going on in that. Going back to the original Star Wars, I always liked Han Solo more than Luke Skywalker, so I've always wanted a side of the story that wasn't Force/Jedi-oriented.

Couldn't they have found someone with more resemblance to Harrison Ford, though? The acting doesn't have to be perfect (Star Wars never was), you want the impression you're seeing a young Solo.

How many times in cinematic history have we heard some version of the phrase “I’m putting together a crew.”

This gives me a glimmer of hope. I’m still cautious after RJ managed to royally frick up TLJ.

I liked Rouge One a lot. The beauty of the original trilogy was the simplicity in the story. See TFA. If they stick to the basics and give up on the bullshite they can pump out these movies forever.

That said if they get cute and flop the backstory of one of the most memorable characters in history on the heels of TLJ shite show, Star Wars may not recover.

Honestly this trailer looks pretty good.

Agreed. I’ll watch it. Hoping for Rogue One or better.

Apparently we’ve reached the point where the spinoffs are better than the episodes.

Definitely what I'm looking forward to most

I'm glad that OML and Fox stopped by to once again let us know how much space Star Wars occupies in their heads.

Looks pretty good. He's with all bad guys pulling a heist so that gets them away from the "but he's really a good guy" angle that made no sense.

good lord, if you keep watching they do a movie trailer for like 5 or 6 of the base characters all except yoda. kenobi looks boring as shite and thats the trailer showing the most exciting elements of the movie lol. darth vader is just old clips from past movies with about 30 minutes of "new" footage added lol. they all look terrible and not worth watching except for solo.

even then with solo they had to screw with the ship for no reason at all other then to prove they intend to undo everything about star wars that fans know or think they know about the story, the world, and the ways reality was defined in all past movies before disney got a hold of it.

i have to admit i am interested to watch solo (for free) but ready for and expecting to be disappointed

Harrison Ford wasn't brilliant and nuanced, he was cocky and smug. And Han wasn't big on talking, he was quick on the draw.

Point is, you don't need an Oscar perfomance. Frankly, that likely would get lost in the CGI and (I assume) campy dialogue (laugh it up Fuzzball; absolutely your highness; a few smirks etc). You just need someone who doesn't make you cringe when he delivers it.

If the new actor is remarkably NOT Harrison, that in itself can be cringeworthy.

unfortunately, it's got the same issue the prequels did- Han, Chewie and Lando are going to live, no matter what you toss them into. Same for Boba Fett if he makes an appearance. And yet, they likely will have deaths to make it "heavy"... so if you don't recognize the character, accept that they probably die.

This would have been a far greater concept if they DIDN'T include the original cast in the modern trilogy, AND they set it after Return of the Jedi. It would have been open going in for whatever, and you might could flesh out the time between then and now a lot more. And hey, since it's a one-off, you can let him live at the end, and still bring Harrison back to say goodbye, after they released this.
Heck, that would imply someone had an idea of what they were doing...
