All Quiet on the Western Front was really good and I think did as well as they could to do the book justice in a single movie.

I watched The Siege of Jadotville on a flight several years ago, and it was really good.
If 13 Hours (Benghazi) is still on there, it’s awesome. Not sure if you’d count that as a war movie or not. But if you’ve never seen it, it’s excellent.

"Letters From Iwo Jima", a movie from the Japanese viewpoint of them desperately trying to hold the island when the Marines landed.
Done as authentic as possible with all dialogue in Japanese so needs to be watched with subtitles------unless you understand Japanese.
