I wasn’t planning on watching it because I watch reacher to just watch reacher kick arse. I could do without the girl bosses

Its not really girl bossy. Shes closer to the accountant than the kweeen from reacher this past season. They actually give her character a reason for being so serious too. Ive def seen much worse shows.

Show was just okay, fairly entertaining.

Neagley the character, based off Reacher series, did not warrant her own show and then the actual show did not really change my mind on that.

It really did not feel girl bossy. She fought & won some but also got her butt kicked.

Neagley's character has never felt like a draw to me, and Maria Sten also never felt like must watch TV, though I had only seen her in Reacher. Still felt that way for most of this series but I have to admit a few things.
1) I thought she did a great job in the hospital scene with her dad about what caused her hapephobia. She did fantastic.
2) She kind of is a selfish POS. Maybe this is where some viewers say "girl boss".
a) She put Keno in a bad spot and left him there very vulnerable saying "he'll figure it out", as if he had any experience or training.
b) She repeatedly did what she wanted, and used and put Hudson & Renee in bad spots with zero care.
c) Lazy writing but the show had her and others kill multiple when they did not have to, yet she could not get over someone killing a pedo???
3) She's got a nice rack! Never noticed that before but even from ep1 in a tighter shirt I noticed it & thought "huh, never clocked those before". Quick google search and saw a few images and was pleasantly surprised. Did not know that she was in beauty pageants and crowned Miss Denamark Universe 2008

Understand this is Lee Child's Neagley from the books. Neagley was one of the few people Reacher actually said he was scared of. In the books, Reacher pummels people into submission with his brute strength and high pain tolerance. Neagley wins through being highly trained, lightning-fast, and technical.

I do understand the POV but I had to force myself to accept fiction is fiction many years ago otherwise, most movies are difficult to watch. I like the Cruise Reacher movies but it took a lot of work to accept a hobbit as Reacher. Combat whether hand to hand or with weapons is rarely if ever accurate in movies, they would be dull as frick if it was accurate just like car chases. They are best when you can relax and suspend reality, at the point you can't then you do indeed have to turn it off, but in this case there is no reason to expect a Child's Neagley to be anything short of a over the top badass that is also brilliant which are the reasons reacher picked her.

Good summary. I have very similar thoughts.

My wife and I binged it over 3 days. I thought the plot seemed to come apart during E8, but then they salvaged it in E9.

Neither of the women in the lead roles show enough emotion for my taste. It makes me think that the actresses are not that talented. And I get that the Neagley character is supposed to be stand-offish.

Both Neagley S1 and Reacher S4 had really awkward male / female relationships.

Anyway, it helped pass some free time. If there is another season, I'll give it a watch.
