better than making it to the finals?

I think she is talented enough to make it to the finals with any coach, but her song choices, and the screaming, would have been more under control with Adam. I wasn't even thinking Will had a chance at top 6, but he made it to the Finals with Adam as his coach.

My wife (no pics) nailed it last night talking about JL. She said that JL would have done so much better if Christina hadn't tried to make her into Christina's little protege. I think Adam would have coached her much better.

I agree with your wife.

Tessanne won it with the Whitney Houston song.

At least that means Christina won't win.

Right now, Tessanne is at #1 with the Whitney song and #2 with her duet. Will is at #8 with I Do it for You and #9 with his duet. Jackie is a #9 with her Jennifer Hudson song. Interesting. Will might come in at #2 which would be a surprise.

This is why I don't like the iTunes voting. I don't check the charts, because you can basically figure out who wins. So after this post, I know I don't need to watch tonight because I know Tessanne wins, Will in second, and JL third.

No it isn't. It makes money. Twitter voting, caller voting, and text voting doesn't. They tell you up front if their iTunes song is in the top whatever they get those votes multiplied by 5. And wasn't there something about total iTunes downloads for the season being tabulated for the finalists and that goes into the voting as well? So Tessanne might not win it after all if Will or JL have had better season long iTunes downloads.

I mean I get they are trying to make money, but I bet they also lose viewers because of it. (Well I guess not everyone posts in Voice threads where the itunes charts are posted ). I have zero desire to watch tonight because the results shows suck, and I pretty much know the results.

Will's version of At Last was top 10 that week... and is still in the top 100.

ETA: It looks like Tessanne has 6 in the top 100 right now. So yeah, no need to watch. The battle will be for second place, but Christina won't win, so that's nice.

I'm sorry HC. I guess I shouldn't have posted that, but I'm not sure who wins unless they get the top votes. I'm not sure what the rules are with iTunes except some votes get multiplied and that's it. I'm guessing, though I thought Tessanne would win anyway, but that's a guess, too.

Results shows do suck. They're long and drawn out, especially the finale. At that point, I just want to know who won.

Sorry about that.

I compartmentalized my subjective enjoyment of certain genres/voices and watched. T absolutely should win, power with very warm tone, very few pitch issues, she just flat out ruled last night and really consistently improved/cleaned up some minor issues the last 4-5 weeks.

I am a Will fan, but JL overall should beat him out-until I think about how much I just didn't care for her duet, and the knee drop screaming for 20 seconds that really dampened her final. Will might have swung the compassion votes, he wasn't at his best, but I did enjoy his duet and final solo. I give them all thumbs up for effort and drive to make the finals, the demands on the contestants has got to take a heavy toll the last few weeks.

Ever since Xtina had JL do one knee drop a few weeks back JL has done it in almost every performance since.

Like a trained hamster. She can't get out of her own way. She'll be aight with some seasoning, can't even imagine having a voice with that much potential. Less can be more, etc.

From what I've read about past finals, the iTunes votes are a very very small fraction of the actual votes.

Yes they get x5 (was x10 last year and year before) but they are all 3 in the Top 10 and you can only have one x5 so Tessanne having two still only counts as one.

The online and text votes determine the winner by a large margin, so there is really no telling.

I'm seeing a lot of Jacquie love across social media though.

I noticed that and that she drug the mike stand again, also, though she didn't leave it lying on the stage along with herself, per Ctina, like before when Ctina felt the need to go onstage.

Someone else will fine tune Jacquie the way she should be tuned. She's got a lot of potential. Ctina got her in the finals, but sheesh, she sure did abuse her in some ways.

She's 16 and she is being instructed by one of the most talented pop singers around. If I were 16 and in that sort of situation I wouldn't know what the hell to do (other than what I was being told to do) either.

I really like JL. She's got such an amazing voice and range for her age it's almost criminal. The one thing she still needs to work on is emoting. A lot of the time when she sings her face is about as empathic as an ironing board. Once she gets that down though, the sky is the limit!

I have to admit that I really didn't care for Tessanne for most of the season. Low-register female voices like that just don't do it for me (nor does reggae). All 3 of her perfomances last night though were very well done (two solo, one with Adam). Not only did they show she has a much larger range than I thought, but that her higher register is really quite nice. Before last night, I would have thought of her as more limited than JL. Now, I see her as a more matured version of JL (which is a huge compliment to both artists).

Will is good, but like JL he seems to worry too much about the technicalities while performing and it shows on his face as being far less emotive than should be. He's got a good voice, but Adam really nailed it when he said Wil needs to smile more.

I think it may have been JL win until last night. The song choices for Tessanne were just too spot-on for her voice for the other three to compete with.

I know that feel. I'm not a Tessanne or JL fan and was hoping Will could pull off something epic but alas he didn't. I would like to have seen what Cole could have done with 3 songs because I still like him the best out of all of them.

Yeah but we did get to see the one armed drummer

And C-Lo really sounds like shite on this show when he performs. Positive of last night was that he didn't have anyone in the finals so there was no duet with him.

And I feel like Christina gave too much coaching and info to JL as far as stage presence goes. You could tell in almost all of her performances how robotic and calculated each movement was. I would bet it looked the exact same in every rehearsal. At this beat move here. At his point move here. At this beat throw the mic stand. It just never looked natural and I think it took away from her performances.

I'll chalk it up to her being young, nervous, etc. But I agree with you, every little thing was too choreographed.
