I'm not saying she isn't talented, but she definitely doesn't deserve to win IMO...she's not as good of a singer as Cole or James. Or even Tessanne really, in terms of talent and control.
That's the deal. Tessanne is probably 10+ years older and still works at trying to contain her power/screaming and yet it comes through in all of her performances. JL is way behind her in this regard and the people that don't hear need to plug in some good headphones although it should be blatantly obvious as is. I don't think JL is as good as Will when he is on, he is much more proficient overall. She is a kid trying to sing certain songs just because she has a big voice that she doesn't control that well, and it stopped working for me weeks ago.

Been saying that for weeks. And the "bigger" the performances are getting, the worse he sounds because other things (more music, more background singers, etc.) are drowning him out even more. His low register is nonexistent.
The audio mix the last 4-5 weeks has drowned all the performers out, it was very noticeable with Matthew as well. They all have to be tired, and Will evidently is dealing with some heavy shite with his family and has a more introspective personality than the others. I don't really care who wins, but if I were going to see some of the contestants on their own tour (not a The Voice tour) in a small venue it would be James #1 because it is the breadth of music he can do, Will, then Cole. I like Blake and all, but he better pick his shite up as he has put some really poor coaches' song choices on his contestants this season. Hall and Oates, c'mon man. Is Maneater next??? Will should consider singing a Ben Rector type song, he would do well with that.

Like I said, Cole should sing Jamie N Commons. Specifically, Lead Me Home (which is TWD). Could also do The Preacher.
Tell me he would kill those songs. Even Christina would struggle to say something negative IMO...though I think she'd find a way.

JL is one of those singers that confuse more singing with better singing. And her voice has a slightly grating quality to it. Been ready for her to go a while ago.
I think the final three will be the two nerds and Tessanne. Compared to last season, this crop of singers was nowhere near as good.

I don't know, Cole may have to really screw up to not be knocking on the top 3. I have been waiting the last 3 weeks to see if the non-Tessanne remaining contestants would pick up votes from those voting for eliminated contestants, but she just keeps chugging along. It is weird in a way as no one on here has T as a favorite, and Adam always seems a little surprised when she is safe and apparently in the top 4 or better the last 4 weeks. As long as Christina does not win I'm good. Cee Lo and Blake have been relegated to the back of the bus time-wise in favor of Christina's never ending commentaries, it has shifted the show a bit negatively IMO. Even taking talent into consideration, Adam has done a better job than her this season. She should take another break.

Drop Cee Lo, brink back Shakira, but for the love of God don't bring back Ursher. If they have to have a black guy, why not someone with actual singing talent and not someone better known for his dancing? And with a personality that isn't crazy out there and weird. The only think Cee Lo brings each week is a weird outfit. Throw someone like John Legend or Lionel Richie in there.
I mean, it is quite obvious what their formula is for the coaches panel.
Rocker = Adam Levine
Country = Blake Shelton
Blonde Pop star/eye candy = Shakira/Christina
Black guy = Usher/Cee Lo
I think the only reason Blake and Adam haven't taken a break is that they really enjoy it and actually bring something to the table worth watching/listening to.

I think it's a real challenge to Blake and Adam as well as the fact that they enjoy the gig a lot. They're better than the others as mentors without a doubt, though not perfect. I enjoy them more than any other judges. Are Shakira and Usher coming back for the Spring? I hope so.

Umm, Usher can sing dude. On the other hand I FFwd through every single one of CeeLo's performances because he sounds like a fat muppet
Anywho got caught up last night. Matthew peaked early and had awful awful song choices the past few weeks. If his strong suit is gospel, then hell, stick to gospel. This whole "you need to show how diverse you can be" crap is ridiculous. If you're good at one thing, stick to it.
And speaking of lower registers, does anybody else notice JL struggle with hers as well? She needs to work on her delivery during the softer portions of songs. You can belt it, we get it. But I need some good peaks and valleys here.
Cole is still my favorite. The guy has such a soothing quality to his voice and is spot on with every single performance.
Glad James got another week but he will need to control his emotions during his performances. This hurts his vocals sometimes
You can just tell Will is a good musician and a weird, awkward guy. He won't win but I am happy he is still around
I dont love Tessanne but I dont understand the hate either. She's been pretty solid. I do think her or Will should be next to go though
etm512's power rankings:
1. Cole
2. JL - give me a softer song with control and you can have your top spot back
3. James
4. Will
5. Tessanne

Usher's experience behind the scenes as a producer is more valuable than his singing talent. He's a better coach the Cee Lo.
Christina should never be back, she's terrible.

Maybe they should shake it up all together and get all different artists:
What about this make up of artists?
Pop Rocker/Black Guy (2 in 1) = Darius Rucker (no, he ain’t country)
Country = Luke Bryan
Pop star/eye candy = Katy Perry
R&B/Pop = Drake or Alicia Keys

I thought the Adam, Blake, Shakira and Usher group was just fine
Posted on 12/5/13 at 10:03 am to etm512
So did I. They worked well together and I enjoyed that season more than any other overall.

I did rewind and watch More than Words just now, and it was okay. I'd have liked it more if they knew the words to the fricking song. I think they messed up at least three times.
The only error I caught was at the beginning when Will said, "show you how you feel"

The fix is in, why is Cole's mic the only one messing up?

Yeah that sucked.
James sucks and needs to go home.
