Started watching for the 1st time and absolutely loving it. Only thing I struggle with is the language. My subtitles don't always catch up with everything that is being said and I feel like I miss a lot of dialogue.
Anyone else have this problem?

No. It might just be an issue on your end.

And if you enjoy the Colombia seasons - don't forget there is a Narcos: Mexico.

Yep, he nailed the role. He is Brazilian but in Narcos he spoke Spanish with a nice Colombian accent. He did a great job.

To OP - no, never had an issue with the subtitles.

But even still - just watch it a couple times. Narcos is that good.

Loved the immersion of the series. Agree that the Cali seasons may be better than the Pablo seasons, somehow. Mexicos is amazing too, despite the last season not quite holding up to the standard of those before. Felt like they left a lot of meat on the El Chapo story bone...

There was an episode of Narcos in I think season 3 where I had to stop the show and take a walk because it was so intense

I heard the producers didn't go further into El Chapo's story because the events that would have been in the show would've been too recent and included stuff about a lot more people who were still active in the cartels.

Basically fear of people involved with the show being targeted by the cartels if they didn't like that certain stories were told or how they were portrayed.

I felt like that in season 2 when they take Sandoval hostage at the "prison".

Mexico has a pretty intense scene of hector Palma family that’s somewhat true.

IIRC, I believe someone who was scouting locations for filming Narcos: Mexico was actually murdered in mexico. How thematic.

I’ll also say, the Narcos theme is great. Really sets the mood for the show.

ETA: From wiki:

quote:

Carlos Muñoz Portal, one of the show's location scouts, was found murdered with multiple gunshot wounds on September 15, 2017, in central Mexico near the town of Temascalapa.[14][15] A spokesman for the attorney general in Mexico said that there were no witnesses due to the remote location, but the authorities would continue to investigate.[16] Authorities are considering the possibility of narco gang involvement,[17] but the murder has not been solve

I watched this one before regular Narcos, and I actually like it better.

Man it was so good

Wagner Moura.

Check out "Elite Squad." He's like Brazilian Dirty Harry.

Before that he was a romcom star.
