Fred Gwynne did a decent job in My Cousin Vinny.
Vivien Leigh with the patrician Southern accent in GWTW was good for a Brit.

Too many bad ones to single any out.

Michael Rapaport playing Daryl Crowe in Justified. It made my ears bleed.

The Brad Pitt choice in Inglorious Basterds was terrible.

The Daniel Craig choice in Knives Out was a good one. That's your obvious winner.

I always perceived Daniel Craig’s accent to be purposesly bad for the movie. I don’t think that should count.

Like he is meant to be a cartoon caricature of a southern man.

worst nominee - Daniel Craig in Knives Out, but I still enjoyed the movie.

Maybe I’m wrong, but I thought he was purposely being a caricature of a southern fella, accent, mannerisms and name too - Benoit Blanc!

Oops, clearly didn’t read the whole thread. I agree with Colonel!

Robert Pattinson’s attempt at a Southern accent in The Devil All The Time was the drizzlin’ shits.

Kevin Spacey in House of Cards pisses me off, because he's doing a lowcountry accent, despite his character being from the Appalachian-lite of Gaffney. Doesn't fit.
This. Gaffney folks talk like Kenny Powers. Shelby, NC is 30 minutes from Gaffney, SC.

Radha Mitchell in Man on Fire. It was one of those where the actor only uses it every 7 or 8 words

Cary Elwes in Kiss the Girls. He just sounded like a deaf person

Worst for me was Patrick Swayze in North and South. Best for a non native is probably John C Reilly in Days of Thunder or Slim Pickens in anything.

Fair enough..kinda like Daniel Craig in Knives Out.

I agree that was the whole point of the character to be over the top. I love his accent because of it. Scott Bakula on NCI NOLA on the other hand. That’s a bad accent that’s trying to be authentic.
