No way. It cant hold a candle to the terribleness that was D.C. A couple years back
DC was awful but nothing compared to the train wreck terribleness that was Brooklyn IMO.

Damn right. That is a good question. They never have big groups come over much less parties at any of these houses. They usually just end up with one or two drunken chicks coming back from the bar. A house party on real world would be epic.
It must be some kind of producer stopping it or something because the first thing I would do is plan a "End of the (real) World" party for the last week of the summer. Invite every person theyve met and liked on the island and tell them to bring people. Awesomeness ensues and ratings go up as everyone has the time of their lives

In order to get permits for them to shoot these seasons I think there are special rules that they have to follow. House parties are probably on the list of "dont's".
They are also pretty intensely body guarded when they are out or at least that was the experience when I saw them out in Nola when they were shooting the second New Orleans season.

I cant believe people are still watching this show.

I watched it late last night, I thought it was okay. I haven't watched for many many years, I think the last ones I watched were Paris and San Diego.
I'm not sure I'll keep watching but I'm giving it a shot. Not sure this cast can keep me watching.
The girls are ugly minus the black chick, and it's never good when the hottest chick is black. Without makeup they are turrible, and their bodies don't really make up for the faces either.
The one adoption girl is going to get annoying as frick within 2-3 episodes, and Boston Brandon is just WTF. Then throw in the ginger fig and jesus christ MTV no wonder you're MTV.

Just watched first 10 minutes. Everyone seems ugly and trashy as hell. Hottest girl is black which is never a good thing for the real world.
Ive never understood why they cast these terrible people.
Eta is every one of them NE ghetto trash???
It may be the nicest house they've had on all seasons tho

Alright, so here is my take after the first epiosde.
Maybe I have seen too many seasons of this show, but it feels like characters and plot lines are being recycled.
I definitely agree that we are going to see an adoption arc with Laura. Didn't we just have that two seasons ago with Nany in Las Vegas?
LaToya is my choice for person who gets the least amount of screen time. She kind of reminds me of a much less hot and much more country version of the black chick from Brooklyn (Devon?) who thought she was the hottest girl in the world but just sat around and did nothing.
Marie is not attractive. She also seems annoying as hell. There's nothing worse than a girl who thinks she is funny but isn't. To make matters worse, she just seems to be a boring self-loather. I could go to a grocery store in any American town right now and find a hotter, much more interesting chick. Bad job, Real World producers.
Swift seems like he will be fine. Most intelligent person in the house and pretty outgoing. Seems like he isn't into white chicks (or at least not the two white chicks in the house) so he won't have much drama unless he hooks up with LaToya.
Robb seems like a moron. Kind of like that bodybuilder guy from Brooklyn. And yes, it's a really bad sign that people from this season are reminding me of the Brooklyn cast. The last scene where he punches himself in the face took me by surprise, for sure. I'm a little curious to see what that's all about.
Laura is hot but dumb as hell. And she seems a little too excited to tell everyone about her adoption story. It's the first day on the island. You'd think she would have plenty of other things to talk about.
Trey just fits in with the general casting of guys who were popular in high school but aren't huge assholes. Kind of like Ace in Paris, Matt in Hawaii, etc. But I was surprised when I read his cast bio and it said that he got in trouble for selling prescription drugs to his football teammates. Definitely didn't see that coming. Or the part about his dad being a drug addict who is in jail for murder.
Now, onto the breakout star of the show, Brandon. It's funny to see how Swift's first impression was so off. He thought Brandon would be a bit like Joey from Cancun, emo/goth type but also a cool guy who could pull a lot of tail. Within about 20 minutes, we see that is definitely not the case.
The guy is a loser who is uncomfortable in his own skin and has no idea how to attract women. The scene with him jumping into the pool naked was painful to watch. But despite his obvious flaws, I give him credit for being a very honest person. I bet most of the cast will like him quite a bit by the end of the show. Or at least they will hate many people far more than him
But the part about him writing "kill me" repeatedly in his journal seemed so staged. Of course the two most mentally stable guys in the house would come across it while he's passed out. That was either conveniently placed there by the producers or Brandon did it in the most blatant attempt at building self-pity that I've ever seen.

Just watched some of it. Seemed to be one of the worst casts ever and that is saying something on the level of terribleness.

Brandon is Frankie 2.0 (girl from Sandiego season 1)

is she still alive? I know she had cystic fibrosis
Posted on 6/30/12 at 2:06 am to ATLienTiger
No, she died a few years ago.
What kind of moron smokes when they have cystic fibrosis? I knew a guy decently well who had the same condition, and while I haven't kept in touch with him in the past couple of years, I know he was doing okay when I last talked to him, and he was a few years older than Frankie at the time of her passing.

The preview for tonight's episode keeps making me laugh. Showing the 3 pairs of boys/girls and then just showing Brandon.

Definitely. But he is one of those "woe is me" types that blames others for his problems and gets mad if no one wants to be around him.

isn't Latoya pulling the blanket off that guy considered rape in MTV logic?

Brandon doesn't belong on this show

Them being on an island seems like a very regrettable decison for mtv
