It wasn't terrible, but it was underwhelming. To have both Crowe and Ridley Scott together, it should have been awesome. It was just ok.

I've read rumors that this was originally meant to be something completely different. That it was supposed to either be a TV series that revolved more around the Sheriff of Nottingham. Might be fake news, but that is one plausible reason for it tanking like it did.

Secretariat with Diane Lane and John Malkovich

They really blew it with this one. Greatest horse of all-time and a great story and the movie is vanilla and a dud.

Seabiscuit nailed it out of the park.

Phar Lap was great.

Black Stallion, etc.

Pretty terrible treatment of Secretariat.

There was so much potential with Public Enemies with the casting. But it felt flat to me. I appreciated the filmography but it was pretty dull for a gangster movie.

Public Enemies was indeed terrible. The beginning of the end for both Depp and Mann.

On the list. I've heard it's a much better movie that way.

Assassin's Creed.

Watched it last night for the first time, and it went even lower than my already low expectations.

Sphere. The story is great. The cast was great. But they somehow managed to remove all semblance of terror from the Crichton novel on screen.

The Hobbit trilogy of movies were horrific. It is also one of my favorite books.

Man v Superman -- Probably the biggest mess of a film I've ever seen from an editing standpoint. The cinematography was excellent, the acting was good, and the special effects were awesome. It was just a poorly assembled mess that tried to do too much in too little time. The Director's Cut makes the film barely passable but the theatrical cut is impossible to follow.

Prometheus -- Ok, I was really into this movie until Shaw was impregnated by the alien then it turned into pure schlock.

Plenty of good ones mentioned but Godfather III has to be one of the most surprisingly terrible movies I have ever watched. I was such a HUGE fan of 1 & 2.

Floored me how bad it was and to this day it still floors me that some people actually like this movie.

The acting, writing and directing were all horrible. They took a bad arse character and turned him into such a pussy he almost stroked out.

Public Enemies gets a dishonorable mention because Mann was once a great director.

Pretty much any X Men movie barring Deadpool and maybe X2 which hasn't aged well.

The Dark Knight Rises. Heath dying completely fricked the end of the trilogy.

I wouldn't call it terrible, but it definitely wasn't great.

It started out pretty great, and had so much potential, but fizzled in the last act which neutered it.

Pearl Harbor obviously.

But for me, Alexander may have been the most disappointing movie ever made. An epic story turned into 3 hours of confusion, bad acting and gayness. Just horrible.

Troy is another one, but at least it was somewhat entertaining.

100% agree with all 3, not sure why you're getting downvoted.

How can you have an Iliad movie without any gods in it?

As others have said Star Wars prequels are #1.
The other atrocity is Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull.

I thought it was terrible. Came across more as a comedy than an action/drama. It was so lame and tame.
