I had forgotten but Jim’s Firearms was the location of the gun store from Failure to Launch.

I have been to a lot of places that were used in movies, but about 5 months ago i got to visit the one place in the US i always wanted to visit - Devils Tower Wyoming.

Close Encounters has been one of my fav movies for as long as I have been old enough to understand what a movie was - and to visit it in person was a truly great moment.

Back in January I was in LA and found out I was staying just 6 blocks from the Bradbury.

I walked over and geeked out though the whole thing.

THEN, I walked over to the Sedgewick, from Ghost Busters.

Destin

Seaside, FL is NOT Destin. Not even the same county.

I have HAPPENED to have been by and seen many movie landmarks over time, but this summer did a few on purpose while on a trip up to the northeast:

This is where Cyrus gathered all the gangs at the start of the movie The Warriors (in the movie, it was in the Bronx but the scene was actually filmed in Riverside Park in Manhattan).

The Roosevelt Island Tram, which Wulfgar (the late Rutger Hauer) hijacked and took hostages on in the movie Nighthawks...

Hey, there's no trap door in the tram floor, nor a winch! How did Sly Stallone get inside to get the baby hostage?

Walkway Tube at the old TWA terminal, seen near the end of Catch Me If You Can when Tom Hanks lets Leo DiCaprio "run away" for the weekend.... That old TWA terminal designed by Eero Saarinen has been BEAUTIFULLY restored to its jet age retro glory and turned into a really neat airport hotel. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting New York.

Then we went to Martha's Vineyard, which meant a lot of JAWS sites:

South Beach, scene of the opening bonfire beach party...

We rode the short ferry where Chief Brody and the Mayor and other officials first talk about closing the beach. That is the ferry to Chappaquiddick Island, so of course we had to go see the Dike Bridge which Ted Kennedy drove off of and killed a young lady, featured in the 2018 movie Chappaquiddick:

Not the same bridge; back in 1969 it had no railings.

But the coolest thing was visiting the American Legion Memorial Bridge, now commonly called the "Jaws Bridge", from the scene where the shark entered the pond and scared Brody's son into shock. The bridge is not the wooden one seen in the film-- it has been replaced with a new concrete one-- but it is a "thing" for folks to jump off of the bridge into the channel below. Being a fan of tradition, I did so as well.

Been to a lot of the ones that have been mentioned.

A couple that haven’t: Daniel’s apartment complex from The Karate Kid and Jubilee Theater in Las Vegas, where Apollo got his arse kicked by Drago.

Spent quite a bit of time at the house used for the fraternity scenes in Everybody's All American.

Drank many weekends at the Wagon Wheel in San Clemente - Heartbreak Ridge

Did the Band of Brothers tour this past summer - multiple filming locations.

I'm from Vegas so name a spot and I've been there

I lived in Vegas from 9-18 years old, so I'm pretty good in terms of any Southern Nevada locations.

I've been to Haystack Rock, the Goonies house and the jail, I feel like I have Goonies pretty covered.

Been by the Godfather II house in Lake Tahoe (it's private property, so just around it).

Visited pretty much every major museum in NYC, and a ton of films are done there.

The old LA sports arena did a lot of basketball movie scenes.

Probably been to a bunch but the only ones I specifically went to because of the movie/tv are Los Pollos Hermanos (Twisters) in Albuquerque and the Philly art museum steps.
