Bill Bixby as Dr David Banner (TV Series 1977-1982)

Eric Bana (Hulk 2003)

Edward Norton in The Incredible Hulk (2008)

It would have been interesting if Norton had gone the distance.

No way they could have made Hulk as dufus-y

I would have loved to see Norton play out the hulk and how that would have changed the story lines.

Norton seems a lot closer to the old school Bannner.

Need to rewatch the Bana version sometime; don’t remember much about his portrayal.

Ruffalo is a bitch. Bixby was the Hulk in my childhood so he will always get my vote.

Ehh I don’t know about 99% or anywhere close to that. This board probably does hate him more than most people though. I don’t like him all that much either but I don’t really blame him for what the Hulk has become. I like the Hulk in the first Avengers movie. It doesn’t matter who they hired, Disney was going to nerf the Hulk eventually

Norton wouldn’t have allowed them to neuter the Hulk like they did.

Bana. I’m one of the few that think Ang Lee made a pretty deep movie.

You’re right. It’s his politics. Always the politics.

That movie gets flak due to the comic strip style, but I also liked it.

He WAS great. I don't like the direction Disney sent his character over the years though.

Gets overlooked yet did a decent job.

Fits the OP's question.
