If you didn’t like the last Mortal Kombat movie, you will equally not like this one. They somehow sapped all the fun from the franchise and turned it into an absolute soulless shite show. It really is terrible. They don’t even use the theme from the first film. It’s just a mess. Avoid wasting money on this pile of shite in the theater.

No OG theme even though they used it in the trailer? What is so hard for these frickers to understand? Meanwhile Street Fighter seems to have people that actually understand the campiness and fun of the game and are leaning into it hardcore. That’s all we ask.

Agreed. At the end of some fights they were trying to be all dramatic. Like we were supposed to feel bad so and so lost or so and so had to fight at all. And the liu kang scene was so so bad. It’s a video game. Make it fun. You know, like the video game.

Same, it was very forgettable and not at all worth rewatching.
I still go back and watch the original MK movies from the 90's.

I wasnt expecting much but it does suck they managed to strike out twice on the reboot.
Wish we could've had at least one where they unexpectedly found something good.

Although what if you did like the first one? I actually sort of low key loved it. It wasn't everything I was hoping for, but I thought it was still really entertaining despite some obvious stupid things (like the dumbass main character and his "powers"). But I thought the fights were pretty sweet, which was the main thing I wanted.
I also wonder if Covid had something to do with why I liked the first one so much too...I suspect so.
I will still definitely watch this one, but will lower my expectations a bit.

It was excellent.
The main problem is that not only was that likely the best scene in the movie, it was releas4d several weeks prior to the movie as sort of a teaser/intro. So by the time I watched the movie, I had already experienced the awesomeness of that scene.

Same. The entire time I was watching it I was thinking about how bad it was. It was a straight to Netflix one though right? For some reason got semi excited about this one.
