I think 13th Warrior is a legit good film, but I do agree that the end scene is the best part of it.

I rewatched Troy Recently. I was thinking of making a thread discussing movies that seem like they could be better but looking deeper if it was possible. The original inspiration was after watching Devil's Advocate for the first time a few weeks ago.
Troy held up a LOT better than I remembered.

Phantom Menance Maul fight or pod race. Avatar scene riding those dragon horse things; Avatar II that whale thing coming to the rescue. I was going to say the final scene of The Field when the old woman chastises Richard Harris but that whole movie is actually pretty damn good. Check it out.

Elysium.....the scene where Max and Julio shoot down Carlyle's shuttle to steal the data. The mix of CGI and practical looked really good at its time..still holds up. The whole movie is a bit of guilty pleasure for me but that scene in particular is very cool.

In 2004, Troy was a huge disappointment when compared to contemporary epics like Gladiator, LOTR, and Braveheart.
Now, it stands out as almost master cinema compared the 99% of the shite released in theaters.

The sequence in The Tomorrow War when Chris Pratt returns from the future and sees his young daughter.
The rest of that movie was a mess, but damn, that scene was an emotional sledgehammer in the feels. If that didn't make you tear up, I question whether you have a soul.

agreed but what a horrible ending. i loved 95% of that movie then the ending was so bad it almost ruined the entire thing.

I was kind of referring to the hate it gets, but I agree, I love this film for the most part. I think it’s pretty good. It knows what it is and is just pure comic book fun (even the stupid parts).
