What did y’all think of Olivia Colman’s character? I thought she was the best part of the show but I’ve seen some criticize her.

She was great.

The fricking show has some well written parts/scenes, but the direction and overall plot are absolutely awful.

Ign came out with an article about this series ruining Nick Fury as a character. They were spot on.

Looks like they are setting her up to be the new “fury” IMO.

Also, Rhodey was in a hospital gown. Unless I'm missing another time is that them trying to tell us, without actually telling us, that he's been a Skrull since Civil War?

I've seen this mentioned but I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume someone with spine damage and mechanical leg braces goes to the doctor occasionally.

Olivia Colman’s character

Easily my favorite character on the show. She needs to be in everything

She's fricking great. Loved when the scientist skrull thought he was smart taking the other scientist skrull hostage and she just sighed and blasted him in the head like she was annoyed the drive thru got her order wrong.

This show fricking sucked. The eye bleach CGI battle was pathetic. Fury was emasculated. There was no sense of paranoia about who was really who.

Just mediocre shite.

Agents of Shield has done pretty much every D+ plot point along the way and better too. In fact, I’d argue AoS was better than any D+ show Marvel has put out and only Loki puts up a fighting battle.

The episode right after Winter Soldier when HYDRA was revealed definitely beats anything this show attempted

Loki, Wandavision, and Hawkeye are miles better than Agents of Shield

Agents of shield was awesome.

Just watched the full series this week. She is the highlight of the show.

Why again did Fury not contact an Avenger or any other superhero to help prevent the Skrulls from causing Armageddon? Can anyone explain this?

i mean, we all have different opinions. I loved Agents of Shield. It's one of my favorite tv shows ever.
I loved all the main characters. Coulson, Mack, Gemma, May, Daisy. Fitz's character arc was great, and Ward was a great villain.
I liked how early on it was somewhat tieing into the movies, especially Winter Soldier.
It was just a great show, and Coulson and Daisy should be brought back into the movies or shows.

and yes the british lady was the best part of the show. She was very similar to how Umbridge in Harry Potter was, the lady in pink with all the cats that tortured the kids but did it with a smile, obviously not as a bad person like Umbridge. Their facial expressions, voice, demeanor, etc is always the same and upbeat and happy. It makes them a bit terrifying when they act that way. i like it.

Coleman's character asked him this and his explanation was basically, "this is personal", which is a really stupid reason, but Fury is old now and maybe giving into emotion more than logic.

Well he said they needed to learn how to handle their own problems.

What he really meant was this show already cost a ton and we can’t afford to be paying for a bunch of Avengers. Should have just broke the 4th wall like Deadpool and owned up to it.

I read a piece on The Ringer about this finale last night and weirdly it made me appreciate She Hulk a whole lot more.

If you want to have this big, high stakes storyline but can’t afford or get any of the big guns, it’s such a bummer. She Hulk on the other hand, was just low stakes, silly, and kinda fun.

Give me that instead because this finale completely ruined an otherwise “fine” show

I think this statement applies to She-Hulk as well.

It was 'fine' but the finale confused things beyond recognition to the point that we don't know what stuff that happened during the course of the season stuck.

Agree, but to me, it’s more palatable in She Hulk than Secret Invasion. They’re trying to save the world in Secret Invasion while Jen Walters is trying to find love and figure out that weird incel group in She Hulk

Just my 2 cents

i would agree as well. Granted i didn't care for She-Hulk, at least it was a fairly simple show, and easy to do on a budget. This show on the other hand was more akin to a movie, and had a plot line that has huge ramifications on the MCU. But you could say the same for WandaVision as well as Loki. The finale for the show was just terribly written.
