Also, how come Ant-Man and the Wasp didn’t make a billion since it was also ”strategically” placed before Endgame and immediately following Infinite War?

Because it wasn't teased in Infinity War? If it was, I don't remember it.

Captain Marvel was teased by Nick Fury calling her with his last, desperate action.
Ant-Man and the Wasp just happened to come out, we didn't know or suspect there would be anything relevant in it.

*Which just goes to show how deeply they plan out the MCU. Captain Marvel is a misdirection. Yeah, she saves Tony and Nebula... that's really the big impact she makes. She takes down Thanos' ship, but he whups her arse head-to-head.

Ant-Man and the Wasp seemed like "filler", but the Quantum Realm discovery turns out to be the key to beating Thanos.

Scoop,

I disagree. While not having a stinger trailer many fans had theories linking ant-man & the quantum zone to EndGame. They also knew Captain Marvel was a story set in the 90’s.

That evens it out IMO.

Who gives a shite how much money they made.

Captain Marvel is a poorly written character and Larson plays it like she’s a block of wood. Case closed.

And they fricked up a movie set IN THE 80S. That’s really hard to do.

It was set in 1995 but yeah okay.

And I didn’t care for the movie either so that’s not me defending it all.

Captain Marvel isn't a very interesting character to start with, but they have shown they can make good movies with uninteresting characters (like Thor or Guardians of the Galaxy), so I'm not sure how they failed with Captain Marvel so hard. The Black Widow movie was much better than the Captain Marvel flick, and it didn't even have the benefit of 90s nostalgia, Nick Fury, and Phil Coulson.

She is way over powered. Even in endgame they didnt know what to do with her, so she is off in the galaxy somewhere the whole time. Flying through a ship was ridiculous.

Whether it's Larson or someone else playing it, the character is more of a problem.

Yes, she’s basically Superman in an MCU universe that doesn’t really support such a character.

She is unlikable but not sure if that’s the character or the acting.

Yeah the hair is hideous.

But her whole training in the Capt Marvel movie stressed being unemotional so her wooden manner and resting bitch face fits that. Or maybe that’s just how she acts. She is bitchy in that car commercial too.

Yes

It's not even good antihero stuff. Just Captain Karen with no appeal whatsoever

See, that's the one line where I thought she was legit charming and wish she could be more like that throughout the films.

Takes all kinds, I guess.

I like Carol as Captain Marvel. I just wish it was this Carol

And not man hating bull dyke Captain marvel

Interior Art of Captain Marvel when she was good:

Her Interior art now

and the short hair cut phase:

ALso they made her turn Thanos into a Joke. He hit her and she didnt even budge an inch. She stupidly however stood there when he took out a power stone and punch her with it.

Everyone said Thanos rock her world with that hit but the truth is, if there was no Power Stone she would have Steppenwolf his arse. THAT scene took me out of that mass melee fight and made me realized, stakes wasn't really that high if Carol can just have truce him from the get go.

Strange could go back into the past and have Carol arrive in time and kick his arse.

Also her stock didn't realize, her book keep on getting cancelled over and over again due to low sales. I mean sure it is consistently put out but it consistently failed due to being unable to find an audience too.

I think the character is supposed to be somewhat of a rough, kind of unlikable character. Didn't she get Kree blood? The Krees can tend to be assholes. In the book, Danvers became alcoholic and could be unpleasant.

And that did seem a little strange seeing as how her intro was her blasting into the atmosphere and singlehandedly destroying that giant ship.

That…and her needing all of the other female characters help to get the gauntlet to the van. She just single handedly destroyed an alien death cruiser but now she can’t carry a glove 200 yards without the help of Black Widow and the bald headed chick from Black Panther’s useless asses.

Brie's got a great smile , but hates to use it on screen, (she even makes fun of others liking her smile ) , and a nice rack. That's all. Her acting is wooden and her off camera attitude is that of a whiney, entitled spoiled brat.

Katie Sackhoff would have been a far better choice. But she's not the right age for what Marvel had planned, so they went with Brie.

Your OP Question:

quote:

"is it right to feel like Brie Larson Capt Marvel was forced on fans?"

You can feel anyway you want. If others don't like it so what...

quote:

Wanda is great, Sylvie is great, so many female characters have been amazing in the MCU.

Agree completely

quote:

But Brie Larsons version of Capt Marvel feels so forced.

The actress that was a "stand in" for Captain Marvel in Avengers Age of Ultron's deleted scene looked like the comic book and if she could act would have been spot on. I guess they had not casted the character at the time and need a person.

Deleted Scene With Hot Captain Marvel

Here's a screen grab:

To my knowledge, the name of this actress/stand in hasn't been revealed.

quote:

It feels different than any of the other female characters.

That's because Brie Larson is a bad actress or just not right for this role. They didn't want a sexy chick, the want a quasi-lesbian looking macho type and they got it.

quote:

The more awesome female characters come out in the MCU, the more disdain i have for this current Capt marvel.

Let's face, we like the hot chicks. That's why the comics made them sexy and why dude's watching them. Their good looks got you watching and the acting is what kept you. Brie Larson doesn't do either well.

quote:

Am i alone in those thoughts?

No, you are not alone.

Super(men/women) OP characters suck arse. Always have.

MCU was really hamstrung in choosing a non-FF/XMen character until the buy out.

But the acting and writing wasn’t up to snuff. Shame a handful of actresses were dee,Ed too old to choose from. Sackhoff. Whinnick.

Nail on the head there. She did nothing to bring the character to life as well as nothing to endear fans to her. I watch Marvel movies to not have to think about the world. She brought her bs into it.
