Warner Bros. is betting on more Ocean’s Eleven movies, this time sliding studio favorite Margot Robbie into the deck.

Robbie will star and produce a new Ocean’s movie that will be helmed by Jay Roach, who directed the actress to a best supporting actress Oscar nomination with 2019’s drama, Bombshell.

Robbie is producing with Tom Ackerly, her partner at production banner Lucky Chap. Roach is also producing, along with his executive at shingle Everyman Pictures, Michelle Graham.

Details on the script by Carrie Solomon are being kept in the vault but it is known to be an Ocean’s Eleven prequel that is set in Europe in the 1960s.

Roach is known for directing the spiffy joke fest that are the Austin Powers movies as well as the Meet the Parents series of comedies. He recently shot all eight episodes of the first season of Apple TV’s upcoming comedy High Desert, which stars Patricia Arquette and Matt Dillon.

I’m all for heist movies so it could work if they try to make it their own thing and not just crudely control copy paste with a gimmicky device (like Oceans 8)

Yet more proof, Hollywood is out of ideas.

So no characters from the original, or just the two old geezers, or are all the original cast members toddlers and in a different country? Sounds like a really terrible idea. Just make a heist movie set in Europe in the '60s. Those tend to be great.

In. This will probably be terrible but I'm in just for Robbie.

Ocean's 8 did nothing for those female actresses, and i assume this will do nothing for Margot. Why do this?

They have ideas they just don’t want to try and sell them without some franchise name to lure people in.

This was probably just an average heist movie the studio bought and said @can you make it an Ocean’s heist?”

Ocean’s 8 made more than Oceans 12 and 13 (inflation probably accounts for some of that but it wasn’t the bomb I thought it was)

Ocean's 8 is the only one of the 4 I have never watched and likely never will.

11 was great. The one with Pacino is only ok. I hate Pacino so that may have something to do with it. Would be better with someone else as Bank.

A bunch of broads running a heist? Hard pass.

They already did that, so I doubt this one will be an all female flick. We'll likely see a mix and male and females with this

Well...can't be any worse than Ocean's 8. That was a truly awful movie. How do you have a heist movie where everything goes perfectly for the robbers? There was zero conflict in the movie. That was so wild to me.

+1 great cast, but a completely forgettable film.

If they made what they really wanted no one would watch and most movies can't get funded unless it's a "safe" idea. Blackrock only funds ideologically "pure" content.
